King AL label

King AL

Equilibrium Brewery
Collaboration with Toppling Goliath Brewing Co.
IPA - Imperial / Double

King AL uses a mashed-up grain bill from MC² and Toppling Goliath’s King Sue before introducing Equilibrium’s absolute biggest dry hop to date with an all Citra Incognito, Citra LUPOMAX, Citra Cryo, and Citra T-90 hop bill. Pouring a milky opaque yellow with aromas of mango sorbet and orange creamsicle, we get chewy saturated flavors of tropical smoothie, fresh squeezed navel orange juice, dank grass, fruit salad in syrup, and lime gummies with a thick and custard like creamsicle finish and a huge blast of EQjuice rainbow melon flavors. King AL is dangerously soft and smooth and may have you questioning the laws of physics, space, time or just how we got a melted orange creamsicle fruit bomb into the can.

A store by me seems to have them a few times a year.View attachment 1009701
I've been away from this thread for too long. About when I started drinking bourbon... LOL

I've had Blind Pig. It's on my Wall of Fame. But Pliny is still on my wish list. One of these days I'll take my fantasy trip to Russian River. It's very close to the top of my list of breweries to visit.

Who bought Bourbon County Stout today?

I forgot to take a pic and I already put mine away. They jacked up the prices this year, so I didn't buy any of the variants. Not a $25 for a half liter bottle. Nope, the regular is just fine for me. Also like that they had 12 oz four packs (regular BCS only) for the first time that I'm aware of.

Bought one last year and I didn't really care for it.

I typically let it age for at least 6 mos to a year. I still have some in my closet from 2017 and every year after. It will mellow out and improve with age. Although this year with the 4 pack of 12s, I'll probably drink one at Christmas.

Best one I ever had was a 2013 coffee variant that I drank in 2019. I don't like stouts that are big coffee bombs. But the aging took off all the sharp edges.

Are you not a fan of most other big Imperial stouts?

Never had one before. Just wasn't my cup of tea!

Never tried that Paulaner. It's not available here in Iceland... :confused
Interesting. It's the standard for doppelbock as far as I'm concerned. Thought it was available all over the world. Do you get other beers from Paulaner or other major German brewers?
