Excellent. This trip went very well; professionally felt good, and I'm happy with the poker. Part of me is bummed I didn't just leave when the table broke, gave back a few hundred with trip Qs to a Q3 full house, but still walked out with way more than I brought.
First night: in $300, out $296
Second night: in $290, out $950
Would've been fantastic to leave with a full $1000 but I didn't want to walk away, was having a lot of fun and I very rarely hit casinos so I'm happy with the tradeoff. WOW, live poker is exactly as advertised: older guys hollywooding and sighing before betting, deep breaths and wide eyes, majority of river bets get insta folds from any type of missed draw or lower pair. Played faceup against the regular players and threw random false tells for the take-it-seriously crowd. No, I don't think they'd work in the long run but I like to think I earned me a few extra hundred subtly working in some tells. Might be fooling myself but one of the grinders chirped me about them after calling a greedy river bet. Great room with good amount of regulars but lots of gamblers and a good atmosphere.
