BlazeI hope this isn't considered thread crapping (if I'm even using the term correctly), and mods feel free to remove, but may I ask why these live chips just went for 7.5x their value (jokes about them being 0.50¢ aside)? I understand live chips that are harvested sell at above face value to account for the time and energy (and tips to the casino staff) spent to obtain them, but I'm just curious if there's something I'm missing with these in particular.
Is it especially hard to get these fracs, or is the casino really out of the way, or is it the cool house molds or the fact that they're quarter pies? I double-checked this wasn't a charity auction like some that I've seen recently.
Again, not trying to thread crap, seems like everyone's happy with the results, just trying to understand. Thanks!
@Pgheddie lives way far away from it. And he has no friends so it’s either this or travel there!!I hope this isn't considered thread crapping (if I'm even using the term correctly), and mods feel free to remove, but may I ask why these live chips just went for 7.5x their value (jokes about them being 0.50¢ aside)? They are not especially hard to get a few but a rack will take some time. You certainly can’t buy them from the cage. The first 9 is easy they basically give them to you. Play a hand of blackjack, buy in, they usually just give you 10 antes, take 1 ante chip, boom you got 9. Now what are you gonna do though. Ok walk to another section, repeat, another 9. 3rd section of table games is open depending when you go, hopefully there’s another 9. Sometimes it’s only 1 because they gave you 4x $1 2x 50¢. Sometimes the dealer asks for the antes back. So probably more realistic you can net on average 15-20 in a quick lap around the casino….but now you have to chill. If you’re there a weekend then easy, make a few laps per day. If you’re playing a poker tournament, you can try a lap each break. But a rack is easily an all day affairI hope this isn't considered thread crapping (if I'm even using the term correctly), and mods feel free to remove, but may I ask why these live chips just went for 7.5x their value (jokes about them being 0.50¢ aside)?
