2016 Custom Chip HOF stump thread. (2 Viewers)

Id consider the DB a non-factor in Bens set. This is about the chip-set we are talking about, not DBs, correct?

Its an all time set with or without the DB, but if you start adding in DB, cut cards, table felts, and other poker related add-ons, this CHIP HOF becomes something entirely different.

This is the conclusion the committee came to last year and slightly clarified this year with the ultimate rule being the one stated earlier by @Poker Zombie.

Basically, if it (a) is designed with the same theme as the rest of the set and (b) can be bet or won during the course of play, non-chip items can count. The goal of this is to include instruments like plaques and jetons and include instruments that act as bounties, but to exclude things like the paraphernalia you mention above.

I guess these HOF threads serve the same purpose, but I'm surprised an official stickied "Custom Chip Pron Thread" hasn't been created yet here on PCF yet...

I'm going to nominate @Mr Hanky for the Bel Air set. The inlay color matching is stunning. The overall design looks more professional and polished than a lot of casino chips, but it only goes up to a $10 denom (originally only $1!). So much respect for the chipper attitude to lay out for such a wonderful microstakes set.

I also cannot get over Blades bounty chips from @Phantom. As cool as I thought the concept looked, what CPC actually delivered is simply amazing. The denominated chips aren't the flashiest, but fit the theme perfectly as well:

I'll go ahead and voice support for the Colony Club and Via Lactea chips, as well. Both would be great choices.

Need oiled Blades pr0n

...... F me. Somehow I completely missed the fact that there was a Bel Air add-on. If sample sets were offered, I'm about to go find a bridge to jump off of.

Link? I can't even search for "Bel Air" (search terms too short...)

Oh yeah, you can count that as another HOF stump for them as well. :p

Didn't find any sample set offerings, but you can try googling site:pokerchipforum.com "bel air" samples when the search terms are too short. You post about finding a bridge to jump off comes up second ;)

edit: the tongue sticking out face is suppose to be a ":" and a "p".

The google site: search is usually more helpful even if the terms are long enough, I find.

@spikeithard started one a while back. Not sure why it didn't catch on. Maybe now is a good time for a BUMP.

The sample set is still on the dinner table. Wifey asked when I was putting my toys away. Not for awhile babe. These need fondled. She just shook her head and walked away. She is either jealous over the chips or grateful that I'm fondling something else, lol.

However, when you do get around to posting more pr0n, I'd love to see the plaques in more detail as well.

Absolutely mate :-).

haha, fantastic DD :-).

Should I just add new nominations to new post or edit my original post?

Either is fine. There won't be any kind of official count of each nomination from this thread. This is really more for people to bring sets they love to the attention of committee members in order to encourage the committee to include a particular set in the nominations to be voted upon by the board at large.

While digging, I came across stuff from DrJohn on CT. The man was genius. Since we never hear from him these days, I assume he's outside BCC begging for them to reopen their doors, or homeless living under a bridge in a box made out of chips?
Dr. John had (has) one of the biggest selection of prime sets. Edit...duh on the custom set thing...I didn't recall the four seasons set.

He also did the Worlds of Cthulu and Casino R'lyeh ASM sets - not exactly HOF material IMO (a little too interest-specific) but still really cool sets.
