Time for another set...with a twist.
For years I owned a few racks of Mesquite Star $25 & $100, often had the intention to sell them...but never could.
These were made in the very beginning of the post-lead era....but quality wise these are some of my best non leaded
RHC chips.
But it was almost impossible to build a full set since $1 chips are rare as hens teeth and while the $1 & $5 are all small star versions, mine were large stars.
Due to this reason, these never got much love from the CT and PCF members...(bar some CT veterans like
@ovo )
I kept them in the collection...and glad I did now.
When Jim posted the
HSI haul...I loved the primary chips & (non shaped) inlay by MILES and the pri fivers were awsome.
In fact, the whole $5 - $500 is one of the best (colors, progression, ...)
RHC casino racks out there imho (espec. for the initial TCR sale price)
So during the sale, I snatched up a mint pri cash set...and loved them on the spot (except the $1 due to the inlay)...so much that I wanted a full tourney set.
So I gifted the $1 chips to a local non chipping poker friend and added hundos and $500 chips.
Once I received those, I also paired them up with the Mesquite Star $25 & $100 and while i'm not a big fan of mixed sets...that combo matched great, incl. color matched inlays & western theme.
I still have 1 barrel of $500 en route and would not mind to add 2 more barrels of hundos.
But with current prices, that's not going to happen soon...
Thanks again Ken
@kk405 for all the logistics and the hundos & $500 chips
AT TCR PRICES
One more thing regarding pricing....many moons ago, I sold most of my 'expensive' racks where I had paid more then $300/ rack.
I just don't have the crowd that can appreciate the expensive stuff and just want to play without having to worry about the value of the chips.
So all the sets I posted and will be posting, don't have a cost of more then 300 per rack. Sometimes I streched it with limiting to 300 EUR per rack...but never more (average on the set)....but PLENTY of sets were A LOT less.
So no, you don't need to spend $1000's on a nice set...if you want to look beyond mint leaded
THC chips.
On to the pron
