A bunch of Scrub Donkeys (5 Viewers)

Sobering Realization.

In the last almost two years, I have played a total of 4 times. 4 times. (What in the hell do I have to talk about to the tune of 5k posts if I've played 4 times?)

Home game in early 2019, MiM Meetup June 2019, Hosted a home game Nov 2019, and SQM Meetup Feb 2020.

Do you know how many chips I have bought and sold in that time frame? I bought and one day shipped an entire Roadhouse 39/43mm set for the single game I hosted in November.

There better be some poker players in this new area we're moving. I need to get some chips in play, catch some pr0n, and earn some meager winnings.

edit: and of course the one home game I ran, I was having WAYYYYYY too much fun to get any photos other than starting stacks, and then my cash out. If you've met me, that should sound par for the course.

Is it Minnesota? We have players in Minnesota :).
Just down here in Texas, San Antonio. I know we have home games here, I'm hoping to rope in some local non PCFer folks from our ridiculously huge HOA.

Gonna need some people who know even less than I do, so that they're patient as I nail down good hosting and so that they suck so that I don't lose all my monies.

I originally looked into this forum and other website sources for casino quality poker chips... Only to find a bunch of poker chip nerds trying to sell $0cash value "collectable" poker chips for outrageous amounts money posting of mediocre poker winnings, etc... Poker chips aren't like classic cars, or silver, or gold... they are f****** poker chips for crying out loud, with no actual cash value or "collectable value" that you supposedly claim maybe those very few rare ones are collectable, but for the most part, not really. There is no actual significant history behind "most poker chips" that are being priced at $2 - $5 per poker chip. I will gladly take my money to the casino and get "cash value" poker chips that I can always keep or cash back out for my money if I ever wanted to. You couldn't hold a gun to my head to buy your overpriced poker chips you idiots. I don't care if Paulson doesn't make poker chips anymore or these other brand names older than Paulson. It doesn't make the value that much more because it's not produced anymore, or because only so many of them were produced, as if it's rare. Casinos bought thousands upon thousands of the same poker chips, it's not like a limited number was produced for that specific poker chip for that specific casino. I would love to see you take it to a pawn store or an auction place and see how much it sales for... Oh ya that's right, only these idiots would pay that much for it, that's why you post it on this stupid site. A bunch of donkey mules
Keep in mind casino chips become obsolete too. $1 chip may not be a high risk investment, not so much for higher denominations.

Yes I believe every casino chip becomes obsolete over such a period of time and the casino gives you so many days to cash out the chips before they are obsolete.

What games do you like to play @BarrieJ3 ?

Anyone ever play 6 card PLO? That shit is a lot of action :bigbucks: I personally like Omaha over Texas Hold Em, but I still love Texas Hold Em. It can be slow sometimes, but a group I play with does a dealers choice game. Now that is a good time right there, playing all of the different wild card games and gambling games, shit even black jack where you deal yourself as the dealer and you set a max bet limit for the table. A lot of fun.

Theres lots of members here that prefer dealers choice over hold em. I like hold em always have always will lol but if going to a meet up for fun I'll play the mixed games. Just have to be prepared to lose my money lol

I agree, and I agree  :ROFLMAO: I got my ass handed to me the last time playing dealers choice, but the time before I won like half the buy one. I feel like it's a hit or miss.

Pretty much lol just have to know the best hands to play, and be fearless when betting. The rest is praying lol

Scarney, double board omaha hi only, Big O, Tahoe Pitch n Roll, and any split pot game. Stupid ass Locust variation of whatever if blinds are smaller and people are drinking.

Basically I want to feel comfortable playing every hand pre and I want there to be big swings.

I don't play poker and never really have, but I'm a huge gamer in every other sense. I need there to be some action and some gimmicks. If it's Hold 'em, I get bored and start deciding whether I'm going to win the pot before I get the cards to make it more interesting. Same thing happens with Big O if I get bored.

I like 4 card and Big O, but 6-card PLO doesn't seem like it would be an action game. More like nuts or fold.

But I guess it depends on your crowd.

I haven't gotten the chance to play with bomb pots and all that jazz, but I'd like that too. Anything to throw a wrench in the game and make people alter from their normal comfort zone. I'm a gambler not a poker player.

I knew I liked playing poker with you for a reason
The best part of a gambler is the lack of respect for the money. When a poker player wins, it's jotted down, added to the bankroll, maybe a picture of the stack for the donks online.

When a gambler wins, it's off the next morning to pick up tequila and limes, buying tacos and shots, throwing pot splashers in. When they're rolling hot, they don't even notice that they're barely breaking even.

And that sir, is why I keep my "poker playing" to a minimum. I'd like to be good enough on the poker end though, that I can start to play more, continue to "gamble" when I like, and still end up ahead. I just want to leave the poker room up 2k, walk out and put it on black, lose to 00, and head to get some TBell on the way home.

I was talking to @Thisfiendis138 and we thought it would be pretty cool to get a bunch of PCFers together once a year for a poker party or something, my dad use to host poker tournaments in his upstairs business building that had a built in mini bar, big screen TV, surround sound and a bunch of poker tables and chairs. It is empty out now, but I could get enough poker buddies let me borrow their tables and I could rent some chairs  :whistling:
I wouldn't mind hosting the first one after all of this Rona passes.

For me it depends on the game.

At a regular home game, I lean hard toward the gambler. I play a lot more aggressively and focus more on fun than profit. And when the right regs show up, a 4am trip to Waffle House is guaranteed.

At the casino, I'm all about the

they’re called meetups and they happen from Alaska to Florida constantly except for this damn virus. Some folks attend A LOT of them. Great times for sure and I’ve only been to a mini one one time. I think they have their own sub forum. For sure some folks would attend yours!!

You will always have a seat saved at my game Jeff :D

LOL but we only play holdem for the most part. We add in a few things to mix it up and add some gamble. Usually we pass the dice around (had to find some way to incorporate those awesome Binions and Jack dice) and whatever the player rolls is the amount for the bomb pot that hand. Or the button bonus game. But still holdem nonetheless. Shots are always flowing though!

Give me a good hearted crew that likes to have fun together, and I can drink water and play Hold Em all night. But yeah, shots and dice help  :ROFLMAO:

Before I knew circus games, I used to love doing some type of dice to break it up. At my last home game, we played Left Right Center at some point. Too many drinks. Just had normal dice, so we played 1-2 was Left, 3-4 was Keep, 5-6 was Right. We went around the table rolling at least 3 times before we started to realize the game would never end.

There are definitely some fun dice gambling games too :cool

I looked it up. Austin to Jeep’s place is only a 7.5 hour drive!
