Barrington poker table thread (14 Viewers)

Thanks, @Teach42, for the recommendation. I installed these 2 handles and it makes carrying the barrington way way easier. Very easy to install, just 4 holes (2 for each handle).

Got an email from WallyWorld about these being on sale for $201.60. They had been out of stock for a long time so they must have found some in a warehouse. Kinda doubt they are every going to be much cheaper at the retail level again. The days of the $100 price may only be found used and/or second hand anymore.

Mine was $100 at Walmart 2 months ago, but it was in Wilkes barre, PA and I feel like it might have been an error. Last one in stock too, sorry :(

$200 is a no brainer honestly. Do it!

Inspired by this thread, I refitted two tables for a buddy of mine this summer. Both of these involved drilling for deeper cupholders, and replacing not only felt, but foam underneath and replacing the vinyl on the rails with pleather (which wound up being the most time consuming aspect of the project).

First up was the blue table. At some point, I'll need to revisit this one, the client and I had a miscommunication and it turned out that he wanted jumbo sized cupholders. When I re-refit this one, I might also raise the rail and add lights.

The second (red) table started out as the ESPN lighted table. When I did this refit, I went ahead and drilled for jumbo cupholders, and replaced the lights, along with felt, foam, and pleather. He was very pleased with how this turned out, and had custom bags made as carrying cases for these tables. If there's interest, I can get specific info from him on those carrying bags.

Nice work on these. I’ve heard people complain that the lights are too bright on the espn table. Did you have to install a dimmer? Also what foam did you use during the replacement?

The lights I used were whatever cheap chinese RGB lightstrip was on special on Amazon that day, LOL. It came with a remote, and they are dimmable. These are very similar to what I installed: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G92D3NG

I used this foam, also via Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076XNL217
This synthetic leather worked surprisingly well for the rail vinyl: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08JLVLLBM
My only gripe with it was it arrived folded instead of rolled. But a 1/2 hour or so unfolded on a sunny concrete driveway took care of that...

Great info. I bookmarked this for when I decide to take the upgrade plunge

Every time I look back at this thread, makes me want to get custom felt from Chanman but then I'm conflicted on just building a non-folding custom table with the custom felt....

You find yourself wondering that. Originally got the Barrington because I found it second hand for under $100 and figured a folding table would be great for storage. Since then I have replaced the felt, expanded the cup holders, and can't remember the last time I folded it up for storage.

So while the table still works great, I sometimes wonder why I didn't just build a fully custom table.

Yeah, I modded mine out with help of this thread. Even put USB chargers under rail for every seat and never fold my table up. Contemplating just making it one solid piece of wood on top, padding, felting and calling it a day

Yikes didn’t notice that thread was a thing. And honestly, glad I didn’t pull the trigger on a full dealer table from Gorilla. Won’t be buying from them. just my 2¢

I like to spread awareness about this disgraceful event in PCF history for this exact reason.
Everybody can order from whomever they want but I think more people should be aware of who exactly they are dealing with.

Sharing my build. Thank you to the contributors of this thread - definitely simplified the process! Some call-outs:

* yourautotrim royal blue mini SSC was sold out, so I swapped to burgundy and am very pleased (yay samples)
* I only had 4 clamps, a manual Phillips screwdriver, T50 1/4 inch staples. I spent about 10 combined hours from start to finish. I was able to do this in a tiny Seattle apartment.
* I did not initially read the comment about using a blow dryer to loosen the glue under the railings, and I ended up cracking one of my rails. Luckily the damage was not visible once the table was reassembled.
* I used a silver color oil based marker for the bet line. The best tool I had for the curves was a frying pan, and you can definetly see the imperfections if you look for it.

Just hosted for the first time with my Super Poker World (Mario) themed table topper. Very happy with how it fits in the barrington. Felt like actual speed cloth!

Looks great! I really love the whole theme. Any plans for matching cards? (I don’t know if it’d be a bit too much for people to play with them)

As an aside, are there any other good tables in the same price range as the Barrington, or should I just go for the Barrington? I like the price/simplicity, and the ability to upgrade in the future if I need to (but don’t have to).
