Barrington poker table thread (10 Viewers)

Is anyone still seeing good deals on the LED Barrington at Costco? I’m not having much luck locally (Western NY). Should I just pull the trigger on this Walmart LED table for $249?

And just to confirm- they are pretty much the same, but the Costco one would just have the extra topper?

Mine hasn’t had any locally in months. They were on sale last month but not currently.

As for them being the same I believe the Walmart one is 15 pounds heavier so something is different.

I think Costco put them on clearance and ended carrying them.
The Costco one is basically the same as the LED version Barrington, not the original, which is a bit lighter.
The difference between them is that the Costco one had a button to change the lights to one of 4 colors, the LED table is just blue. Also, there’s 3 toppers, one for blackjack, pai gow etc.
Other than that, the construction is the same for both.

And the 15 pound difference? I thought the Costco one was MDF so heavier, but that is compared to non-LED Barrington.

The LED one is heavier than the regular Barrington. I was under the impression that the LED and Costco one were both the same weight (minus a few toppers)

I am just going by the sites. Walmart says 100 pounds and Costco says 85 (LED to LED)

I think the Costco table is the only one that comes with the carrying/storage cover as well? I see no mention (or picture) of it in the Walmart listing.

can you send a link to those colored cup holders? Looks great!

Did you reupholster the rails or is it a new table?
Reupholstered the rail plus added a second piece of plywood below the original a half inch smaller on the inside to add depth and so there would be space for the lights. Plus then the lights would be recessed under a lip and the topper would tuck under the lip as well.

Looks awesome. Well done!

Anyone know if these slide in cup holders fit under a Barrington rail? The non-LED variety.

Hi , I made this mat and I am glad to know why it is not selling well! I would love to discuss this further ( private DM ?)

because is is the same as the default graphics on the barrington table that everyone is trying to cover. aside from hiding the seam, it defeats the rest of the purpose of a topper.

I’m going off memory, but I recall my three main objections being:
1. Weird bright blue color (a medium/dark green is my pref. Grey/black is fine too)
2. Card outlines on table are spaced really far apart. I prefer them uniformly spaced, or not there at all.
3. The “Flop” “Turn” “River” text. Anyone who owns a poker table does not need giant text telling them this. It’s tacky.

A simpler mat design would probably sell better.

Costco Barrington owner here. Recently swapped out the cupholders using @RadicusScout instructions. I ended up having difficulty marking the center point given there was about 1 1/2” from the level of the arm rail to the wood underneath the previous cupholder so I made up a little paper template out of a recipe card that was 2 3/4” in diameter (same as the existing hole) and then cut a small hole 1/4” from the center where I wanted the new center to be and marked it with a sharpie. I took the template out and did the same to each cupholder hole and then drilled with a 1/4” drill bit for the pilot hole.

I also added a LED diffuser strip over the LEDs (wouldn’t recommend) and added a dimmer that I got off Amazon.

Just waiting on my topper from @rjdev7 and then I’ll be cooking with gas.

Hey I got the same exact topper and table lol.

Can you link the exact diffuser you got for your leds and how is the topper with the leds on thanks!
I got the diffuser from a Canadian company. Surprisingly I had a hard time finding such a product but I’m sure there are similar out there if you look hard enough. Most of what I had found came with the metal channel and other hardware for mounting LEDs that I didn’t need. Basically it’s meant to be used for LED strip lighting for under cabinets and applications like that. Here’s the link so you can get a closer look:

The diffuser itself has two “legs” or tabs on the side that run the length of it and its bendable so it was able to bend with the curve of the table no problem. The diffuser didn’t fit under the gap between the arm rail and the table top so I ended up cutting off one tab the whole length of it and it was then able to be pushed in place and held in by tension between the felt and the underside of the arm rail. Looks super clean.

The reason I wouldn’t recommend it is because you can still clearly see the individual LED bulbs and it didn’t dim or diffuse them as much as I had expected. So personally I think using just the dimmer would suffice.

As for the topper, everyone at my game was super impressed. It didn’t block the LEDs at all if that’s your concern and everyone liked how the cards slid across it when dealing. I’ll definitely be ordering a second one soon.

Here’s an action shot

Awesome!! Thanks for the insights, I’ve seen that shuffler around where’s it from?

Just a cheap Amazon one. Anyone on PCF would say unless you’re dropping $6K on a used Deckmate then don’t bother with an automatic shuffler. I don’t know all the science behind it as to how good it actually shuffles but we’ve been using it the last couple of games just to get the shuffling started with a spare deck and then switch the deck out. We usually give the deck one more manual shuffle and a few cuts and it’s good to go.
