Plan on jumping on a super quick plane ride to LV for an Event or 2 during WSOP. One is a potential 3 day, another a potential 2 day.

Dependent on what's going on, I may stay for a day, bust, and want to head back, or, Barrie binks a Big O tourney and I'm Hendon Mob certified!

My question is in booking, as I never book any of my travel. Is it best to grab a stay for just a night or two, and attempt to extend or move around as needed? Or just book out for the full stay and recoup costs if leaving early?
In the last decade I've only flown United and stayed Marriott because that's where our points are, are there specific providers that are better at movable dates?

Just curious as I did do a search and didn't find helpful information. Any suggestions appreciated.

Southwest allows "free" cancellation until 10 minutes before your scheduled departure time, so you can book a bunch of one-ways and cancel if you don't intend to fly that leg.

Free same day hotel cancellation don't seem to exist anymore, but you can try searching. Westin is a 5-min walk away and can be cancelled for free by 11:59pm the night before your check-in date. Your best option will probably be to extend your hotel stay before you check out and pay whatever the cash rate that day is.

No matter what, you'll be paying for the flexibility.

Flight is definitely southwest for flexibility….hotel depends.

If your events are over a weekend, it’s tough. If it’s weekdays, you can roll the dice without a room and know that you can probably find a sub $100 room to lay your down in bed in that is safe and clean.

You can always overnight in the casino. Park yourself in front of a slot machine, sleep in the chair, wake up every hour or so and feed the machine to make it look you’re actually playing, and if someone comes around to roust you, just say that you accidentally fell asleep. ;)

Is that how No Home Jerome did it?
Doesn’t sound very restful to me.

Southwest is the nuts for changing plans anytime
, as I never book any of my travel.
Subtle flex? Lol.

I'd probably plan the 90% favorite to bust early. And be presently surprised every night I had to make arrangements to stay. That's what I do. And I've only had to make arrangements once in about 8 trips. Haha

Lol definitely not, me and subtlety have been in the sentence. I mean if it helps she books travel, meanwhile I do all dishes and laundry. Although she cooks.

We are night and day. Like she is incapable of doing dishes and sweeping, I’m incapable of booking trips or cooking.

Always book Southwest for flexibility canceling/changing. Under book nights assuming you'll bust, if you make day 2 or 3, you're probably in the money and free rolling whatever the cost of adding an additional night(s) is.

Just messin around. It sounded like you've had a personal travel assistant the past ten years who just quit and you're lost without the help. Haha.

I'm planning the same thing this summer. one or two events if I'm lucky. Hopefully we get to push our return trips back a few days!
