Biggest chipset per casino, owned by PCF'ers

Those sorta look like CPC / ASM colors. DG = Dayglow, I presume. That hundo is sick! Love to have just a sample set of those chips.

Up above by the chip pics it says Burt. They were bought by ASM, right?
... basically. The Burt Company became Atlantic Standard Molding which became American Standard Molding which became Classic Poker Chips. Throughout the various changes of names and ownership, the method of chip production remained the same, so that the CPC chips you get today are more-or-less identical to the vintage casino clays from the fifties and sixties.

So who is A.B.P. who made these chips?
A.B.P. is the customer; The Burt Company made the chips.

"A.B.P. (Casino Supplies) Limited" was the name of one of many distributors of chips manufactured by Burt / ASM. Like most such distributors, they had their own mold that was restricted to their own use - in this case, the Scroll mold, which you can see on the chips shown on The ChipGuide.

ABP was based in London, so it's perhaps not surprising that Aspinall used them and the Scroll mold. According to Howard Hertz: "Although this mold was developed for use in American style gaming checks, it is was primarily sold in Europe, Africa, Asia and not in the United States."

The company was known as "A.B.P. (Casino Supplies) Limited" from 21 July 1961 through 01 July 1986. They were then known as "A.B.P./Jaymers Limited" until the company was dissolved on 12 January 2010.

ABP themselves had a Spanish distributor known as Hispania - "ABP España-Iserco" or "Hispania Casino Suppliers" or "Hispania Casino Equipment". Hispania also had some chip production equipment, including the Scroll mold, and manufactured chips on their own. I'm not sure how they came to have that equipment, which must have been substantially similar to the equipment that Burt / ASM / CPC had. The Hispania equipment was purchased by Nevada Jacks in 2008; NJ was already producing custom ceramic chips, and they intended to use the Hispania equipment to start offering custom clays, but they never did. NJ later sold the Hispania equipment to Palm Gaming (PGI). PGI intended to start offering custom clays, but they never did. ABC Gifts and Awards later bought the Nevada Jacks assets, and then later still bought the PGI assets, including the old Hispania chip-making equipment. Like NJ and PGI, ABC has yet to start producing clay chips using the Hispania equipment.

Apparently, Joe Daley from Palm Gaming later was selling the Hispania Scroll mold cups and clay recipes, but it's not clear if they were ever sold or to whom.

CPC still offers Scroll mold chips, so Burt / ASM / CPC has probably had access to a set of Scroll mold cups all along, independently of the cups that had been in the possession of Hispania et al.

Fantastic write up! Thanks Eddie!!!

So Steve only has the jetons and plaques from Aspinall's. Do you know if any of the clay chips survived?

Wow.

Check this shit out:
He commissioned a bust of Lord Lucan, a close friend of Aspinall who disappeared in November 1974, after the murder of Sandra Rivett, the nanny of Lucan's children. It remains prominently displayed.

and from the article about The Clermont Club:
In 1976 Goldsmith initiated a libel action against the satirical magazine Private Eye, which had alleged that members of the Clermont Set, including Goldsmith, had conspired to shelter Lord Lucan after Lucan was suspected of murdering his family nanny, Sandra Rivett.

And about Lord Lucan himself:
He was an Anglo-Irish aristocrat, the eldest son of George Bingham, 6th Earl of Lucan by his wife Kaitlin Dawson. Having developed a taste for gambling, he played backgammon and bridge, and was an early member of the Clermont Club. Lucan's losses often exceeded his winnings, yet he left his job at a London-based merchant bank and became a professional gambler. He was known for his expensive tastes; he raced power boats and drove an Aston Martin.

After the marriage collapsed in late 1972, he moved out to a nearby property. A bitter custody battle ensued, which Lucan eventually lost. Apparently obsessed with regaining custody of the children, Lucan began to spy on his wife and record their telephone conversations. This fixation, combined with mounting legal expenses and gambling losses, had a dramatic effect on Lucan's life and personal finances.

On the evening of 7 November 1974, Sandra Rivett, the nanny of Lucan's children, was bludgeoned to death in the kitchen of the Lucan family home. Lady Lucan was also attacked after going to investigate Rivett's whereabouts. She identified Lord Lucan as her assailant. Lucan had, by then, driven to visit a friend in Uckfield, East Sussex.[1] Lucan then telephoned his mother and asked her to collect his children, saying there had been an incident at the family home; he also penned a letter.[1] His car was later found abandoned in Newhaven, its interior stained with blood and its boot containing a piece of bandaged lead pipe similar to one found at the crime scene. By the time the police issued a warrant for his arrest a few days later, Lucan had vanished.

What a f*ing loser. Lived off of his daddy's money, pissed it away on gambling, beat his wife, murdered his nanny, ran away like a coward and stayed in hiding for the rest of his life. His friends might have won the libel suit, but I don't doubt for a second that the members of the exclusive club for wealthy aristocrats helped their buddy escape from the law.

So Steve only has the jetons and plaques from Aspinall's. Do you know if any of the clay chips survived?
No idea.

For some more information about the jetons and plaques, see here:
@ktran , those plaques were made by Bourgogne et Grasset, who make jetons and plaques for casinos. B&G plaques are the very best available, and you can't get your own customs from them like you can from Abbiati or Matsui; they only sell to casinos.

The ones that @chipinla has were made for John Aspinall, who ran illegal games for high rollers. There's a fascinating history behind them, which you can read about here: http://www.marlowcasinochips.com/obsolete/aspinalls.htm

I'm extremely envious of those plaques.

Let's find the Black Bart hoards... 660, well 700, just can't find the two barrels I was messing with

Found them...roulette quarters case for rebuys

Not sure if I will add more to the chip collection, but I'll certainly never catch you in plaques and jetons.
