I've always disliked the 12:00 AM vs 12:00 PM discussion. Should be 12 midnight or 12 noon.

For those that get confused with the 12 PM AM mix up , yes usually using midnight or noon lessens confusion
That is why as an ex military guy I like 0001 hrs! No confusion

How do people still get confused with this? 12:00am is midnight. 12:00pm is noon.
Think of it as being 12:01am or 12:01pm ... that should make it easier to figure out
