Does priority mail include insurance?

Yes, Priority Mail includes insurance:

  • Priority Mail Express: Includes up to $100 of insurance at no additional charge
  • Priority Mail: Includes up to $50 of insurance for most retail packages, and $100 of insurance for most commercial packages
You can purchase additional insurance at any Post Office in increments up to $5,000. You can also purchase insurance online through:

  • PC Postage: Available for Priority Mail Express, Media Mail, and Library Mail items
  • Click-N-Ship: Available for Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail items
Insurance fees are in addition to postage and vary depending on the amount of coverage.

You can mail an item insured online using the following methods: Package Pickup, Dropped off at your local Post Office, Dropped in a Collection Box, and Placed in a mailbox or hand to your letter carrier.

USPS gives you 60 days for insured mail to file a claim. You can't file sooner than a predetermined number of days.
So you technically if I'm reading this correctly- If I think my package is on the way to be lost after a week or two but before the 60 days. I could go online and put $5k worth of insurance on it after that week or two and cash in if it does get lost past 60 days?

hi,is there a new group order coming up ?
If links are still in place, then the chips are still available. Check the first page and if a link exists for chips you want you can click the link to add to those chips to your cart and purchase when done shopping. I just ordered some of the Harrah’s today.

Love it when new chips come in the mail! Thanks Jim!

My 2 cents on the individual chip pricing.....

Although I appreciate the logical math behind @greenchip's spreadsheet, I am going to have to agree with @Hotus777

With the difference in price between the T100 and the T100W, we know that TCR valued the 25K chips at $25/chip.
And we know that the 1K is valued at $10/chip. So the 5K (I assume being more rare than 1K, and less rare than the 25K) needs to be priced in between the two.

My personal valuation of the 5K is $15/chip. Which I personally feel is more in-line with 5K chips for other casinos.
With my pricing, this means that TCR does give a "discount" for sets.

I also have a valuation on the 100K as it pertains to what I think TCR would price them at. But in reality, it doesn't matter, because of its rarity and being one of the most sought after chips. So regardless of what I say, the price is going to be set by the market.

If I get 15 or more :cool reactions to this post, I'll reply with my 100K chip price.
If you disagree with my pricing, please put a  :ROFLMAO: reaction on this post.

I've received enough upvotes that I feel it's time I upheld my promise (even though they weren't all :cool upvotes)

(In our last episode) I went on a rant (copied above) about what I think Jim would price higher denom chips if they all were for sale individually, like the 100, 500, and 1K chips were.
Through MATH, we can determine that Jim priced the 25K chips at $25 per chip.
My personal guess was that Jim would value the 5K chips at $15 per chip.

And my personal guess what Jim would price the 100K chip at, if it were sold separately is: $40 per chip.

Yes, this is not what the market is now and I don't think anyone is selling for that price ever. I came to this conclusion based on the price of the T500 set as it was sold by Jim... and again, it's the price that I think Jim would have sold them for IF they were sold separately. With this price and the price I gave for the 5K, it still gives a discount for buying the T500 set (as I think Jim prices individual chips at a higher rate).

Here's a handy chart of all the individual chip prices as I think Jim would price them if they were sold individually. I also included the lower denom's actual pricing (rounded to the nearest 5 cents) as a reference.

DenominationColorGuessed Jim Price
$100Black$2
$500Purple$4
$1,000Orange$10
$5,000Grey$15
$25,000Blue$25
$100,000Gold$40

Please remember, this is not meant to be a "price guide." It is just a guess at what I think Jim would have priced the chips at.

Difference between T100 and T100W indicates 5k pricing was at around $9.39. Maybe he charges a little more because he has fewer of them, but I don’t think it would be 155% more than he priced as part of the sets. Plus the 1k, while there may be more of them, is a better looking chip IMO and warrants the .60 higher price in the set.

So, is that they way you think Jim would price his chips? Based on color and what looks better?
Do we go by what Jim thinks looks good?
Because the $100 definitely looks better than the $500, but Jim did not price it that way for some reason. I'm trying to understand your thought process.

I am guessing that Jim's pricing structure is based 100% on the number of chips each denomination has. And that is why I made my guess the way I did.
I think I forgot to say that in my other post. My apologies if omitting that confused anyone.

I don’t need to “think” how he priced the chips because I “know” how he priced them in the sets. All the chips are consistently priced except that one. And yes, I would price a chip with better edge spots, better colors and a better inlay image higher than one that loses decisively on all counts. So I guess I think he would think to do the same.

Interesting. I did not think about the spot patterns, colors, or the overall "beauty" of the chip. I only thought about the cold, hard number of racks in existence of each denomination.
Hmmm... it reminds me of looking at it like numismatic collectors Vs bullion stackers I guess.

Flip side though is that your math matches what he did in the IG sale. 5ks were both priced $5 higher than the 1ks. No sets were sold in that sale but your singles pricing holds up well in that regard comparing high demand secondary chips to high demand secondary chips.

Someone noticed that I did my research!

Do we know how many sets were sold? I would be curious to know how much of these are out there.

We do not know for sure. Right now.

In the past, Jim has released the total number of chips he has sold.... After all chips for that casino are sold out. Sometimes he never releases those numbers at all.

I would happily pay ANY of these prices as I'm trying to complete a set.

Have you filed a missing mail report yet? I've had a few things get misplaced but turn up once I filed the report.

ETA: not sure how this works if it's headed to Canada ultimately, but I'd still give it a try.
No
The package was on the way to Washington state on my PO box
I suppose @TheChipRoom have to make the missing mail
Right?

Pretty sure the sender needs to file the inquiry

Ive had packages sent to me that seemed lost. I was the one that filed the missing package claim. It gets them looking for it. The package was found and started moving again the next day.

I would recommend going to the post office where you box is in person and ask them.

There are 2 different forms. One is an “inquiry” into missing mail, “Find Missing Mail” which is basically just asking them to look around and see if they can find it. All you need is a tracking number and the recipient address. They may request sender address later on if needed.

The second is a legitimate missing mail form. Where you are pretty sure it’s lost and possibly not recoverable. They recommend you do the first option before you resort to the second. You’ll see why in my case. I’m sure a real missing mail report would’ve taken much longer.

That’s the vibe I got from skimming their website. I just had a USPS package that was rather large get held up for about 2 weeks with absolutely no update, like yours “Moving Through Network”. I filed the inquiry and within 2 days I got a call from Alvin @ USPS who said he will be at my door in 15 minutes with my package.

Hope is not lost yet
