I'd buy the perfect barrel of $1k IHC if it smelled like smoke and piss, but not a house.houses
Collecting vinyl records. People love to see "from a smoke free environment" For added bonus, "pet free environment".I wonder in what other hobby or collecting group "no cigarette smell or anything" is considered a huge bonus for items of value?
I'm getting deja vu here to when my daughter, Zelda was born. All the nurses under a certain age would come in and say "Ohhh, Zelda! Like the video game?" and then the other half of the nurses over that certain age would say "Ohhh, Zelda! Like Zelda Fitzgerald? "Collecting vinyl records. People love to see "from a smoke free environment" For added bonus, "pet free environment".
I wasn't too worried about the $500s. I am a little worried about the Primary $1s and $5s.Mine certainly aren’t. Practically (probably?) new. No cigarette smell or anything either. You can still see some of the flashing on the edges

I would think most of them. I've seen baseball cards and comic books advertised as coming from a smoke free home. Other things too that I'm just not thinking of at the moment. Who wants collectibles that reek of cigarette smoke?I wonder in what other hobby or collecting group "no cigarette smell or anything" is considered a huge bonus for items of value?
Go with the primaries if there are any left. They're better looking anyway IMHO. And from @AZBOARDER13 pics, they are just as newish as the secondaries.Damn, Tropicana Secondary 500s all sold out? I needed just 40 of em.
A couple of barrels of used primary snappers arrived along with a secondary sample.
Not sure what to do with them .....
If you are relabeling to a different denom, I think the secondaries make a better frac and the primaries a better high dollar tournament chip like a 5K.A couple of barrels of used primary snappers arrived along with a secondary sample.
Not sure what to do with them or if the secondary is better looking. The primary is gorgeous.
Buy first, ask questions later.
(One dirty alongside one cleaned barrel plus a comparo shot pictured.)

The marks people are talking about are the rack check marks. It's usually when someone at the cage drags a single chip against the faces of the barrels in a rack to check that they're all even. I don't think you can expect to get any of these types of marks just from storage in a rack vs. box.I've read some comments in the forums about chips with rack marks. Is it better to store a mint set in racks or in boxes? Looks like Jim shipped my Jumer's secondary chips to me in the casino boxes.

a few Majestic Star chips, as I received them from TCR sale an year agoSometimes the check marks are so bad, it looks like a starburst.
They generally clean up well, however.
Majestic Star cash chips were 39mm 1$ to 500$, 43mm 1000$ & 5000$Where da majestic 36mms at?
There’s no mystery what makes chips rounded like bike tires …it’s not the normal wear and tear, rather being the chip doing the rack-check!a few Majestic Star chips, as I received them from TCR sale an year ago

Pretty sure he's asking about the tournament chips that were in this sale. They are indeed 36mm.Majestic Star cash chips were 39mm 1$ to 500$, 43mm 1000$ & 5000$
Rack checks you say?? Here is a before and after from the MS collection......I've read some comments in the forums about chips with rack marks. Is it better to store a mint set in racks or in boxes? Looks like Jim shipped my Jumer's secondary chips to me in the casino boxes.

My point is that for most, it's an expectation... not a bonus. If you're selling me a Mantle rookie card that's in VG+ condition, but then it smells like cigarettes, we probably differ on condition and at the very least, I'm very turned off.I would think most of them. I've seen baseball cards and comic books advertised as coming from a smoke free home. Other things too that I'm just not thinking of at the moment. I feel your pain. Just looked at the tracking for mine, They haven't issued this message YET, but it's not our for delivery, so I doubt it's going to arrive by 9PM tonight.
Not to worry....it is only known to cause cancer in California....not other states/countries!!!
‘ntToo bad the $4s are actually leaded.
