Bourbon Basement Poker (2 Viewers)

Might as well use this thread to gauge for samples. Only want to know who is interested. I'm guessing it will be in the 15-16 shipped price range (to the US). I will ship over seas.

Care to ship 32? Do you have any extras? I'd love a set.

Order is already in. I can't add anymore. Once I do get them, get everything shipped out. If I have any extras beyond what I want to keep I'll let you know.

You know, you should get a custom felt for that design too... :-) It would make for a great table layout. Make it look like an oak barrel and such...

...so you're playing Open Face Chinese Poker now?

@inca911 sucks one more into his lair...

god no. I've tried it a few times. I think I was @inca911 worse student ever. The game hurts my head.

I'll take a rack of 100's and an invite to the next cash game... :sneaky:

Can't wait to see these live, Bill.

You'll get an invite. I'm sure you'll be a game time decision :)

These are great, who is the designer,.....I new to the forum... I do have about 1500 cpc chips but the are not this good looking. Still trying to figure out how this forum works

@p5woody designed this set. He is great to work with. He designed my set as well.

For the cost of custom chips spending some time and money with a good designer is a must!!

The forum works like this....

1) Look at Pron
2) Get samples
3) Drool
4) Get more samples
5) Spend ridiculous amounts of money on MOAR chips
6) post Pron
7) Argue for weeks about hot dogs not being a sandwich
8) Repeat steps 1 through 7

Welcome to PCF!

Did I miss the price of a sample set? I'm still new... Why do people collect samples? Like baseball cards? As for my game we use about 600 one dollar and 600 five dollar chips a night and that's it. I'm not sure that those are my favorite colors. I also fell th need for 140 25 dollar chips just in case. I also don't understand all the lingo on the board like t50 and many others shortcuts?

Why do people collect samples?
Many reasons. Some do it for the art of it & love of the hobby. Others are chronic collectors of things. Others still get samples for more technical reasons, such as to see with their own eyes how various colors play against one another, or to feel how chips of different molds handle in their own hands, or to see how light reflects off the various molds in different manners. The best way to know what you want when putting together a custom set is to have samples in hand, and what better samples than those of chips that have actually been produced!

I also don't understand all the lingo on the board like t50
I'm sure you've got some great questions and we'll be happy to answer them, but those are probably best posed in a different thread. Let's leave this thread for folks to specifically discuss DetroitDad's fine upcoming set!

(To get you started, a T in front of a denomination typically refers to a tournament value or tournament chip, so T50 means a tournament chip denominated with the number 50. It could also refer to the starting stack value, such as T10k or T20k. But yeah, best to ask your specific questions in threads of their own.)

hard to argue with this. I avoided #7 because I don't care. The rest of the steps are pretty accurate.

As Scott mentioned, its just a crazy fun hobby that some of us have embraced. I own about 50ish sample sets and I have one of the smaller collections lol. The price of the sample set is 14.50 shipped in the US. However the order has been placed already so add ons at this point aren't going to happen.

600 ones and 600 fives work for some. Outside of a limit game this wouldn't work for me. Having that many ones and fives on the table would actually slow my game down. I find my game runs more efficient using 20's or 25's for the rebuys. Plus we mostly play .25/.50 so I need quarter chips in my set.

I don't mind at all. However, scott is right again. If you wanted more/different answers it would be best to organize your thoughts/questions and start up another thread. This is a great forum and we love to help.

I am so new I don't know how to start a thread or where to put it . I guess I need a mentor. Sorry to offend. The det is beautiful. It does seem that talking about denominations and how many chips are need for a purpose are Germaine to all chip design topics

Just like sitting in a triple draw game for the first time, keep your head down and your ears open and you'll pick it up.
