Bourbon Basement Poker (2 Viewers)

I know they are still a month or so out. I figured I'd get all the envelopes ready :).

I hate this waiting game!!!!

I also have all the card board pieces cut out to better secure the chips inside the padded envelopes. My game plan is to oil all the chips before shipping. Even once I get them there will probably be a small delay in sending out the samples. Unless of course anyone wants them with the factory dust still on them. I'll gladly ship early :)

On May 11th I emailed David Spragg and asked for a time estimate. He said three to four weeks.

UGH saw an update and thought your set may have shipped.

I guess I did the same thing to you last week with my thread

A little late, but IMO, I would have changed the color scheme for the quarters and the twenties... quarters should be bland. That chocolate chip IS NOT bland.

Unless you are upping the stakes, its sad that the hundy won't see the table much... Its a great color combo...

If it were me, black/grey would be the quarter, blue is fine as the one, purple/pink for the fiver, yellow for the twenty, chocolate for the hundy.

Then again, to make sure the chocolate is in play, chocolate and blue as is, purple/pink for the fiver, yellow for the twenty, black/grey for the hundy.

Also, IMO, this is a great set. Personal to you, but not so esoteric that it doesn't have resale value (and we all know you're not going to keep it... Waiting for it to be delivered before we set the line for over/under...)

quarters should be bland
Disagree on multiple levels. It's possible we're simply not agreeing on semantics.
  • If I'm paying for custom cash chips, I don't want *any* of them to be bland. I want them to rock.
  • I generally would agree that fracs should be less complex than higher denoms when considering progression. In the context of this set, however, progression wasn't a consideration - the man wanted to stick with bi-colored quarter-pies, and wanted both colors to be in the same part of the color spectrum/palette/whatever the right word is if at all possible. The only slight deviation is the hundo.
  • On a more personal level, I love me some fracs. A grip of people play 50c/$1 or higher. Good for them! Most of what my crew plays involves 5c chips, though, and I'll be damned if they get bland chips to use just because they only have $10 for the night. Less complex, sure, but not boring. They're gettin' spots, and they're gettin' nice bright/bold colors.

I get what your saying. I even considered it. I have the mock up saved on my cpc account (with about 25 other quarter pie themes). I studied these for hours upon hours. I couldn't tell you how many mock ups I did.

If my chips have edge spots I a big fan of edge spot progression. Since this is a quarter pie theme I had to use a color progression theme that worked for me. This one didn't feel right to me. The Light choc/Maroon chip felt out of place between the five and one hundred. I love the colors of the one hundred chip. I don't think it would work anywhere else in the chip denom rotation. I looked at it for the five. It "popped" too much.

Bland-er?

Because they are the smallest denom. More valuable chips should be more spectacular?

IMHO. YMMV.

Which is kind of the reason why I used the colors I did for the 100.

workhorse chips should be the showstopper.

imho. ymmv.

The five is my favorite chip. Even though we play .25/.50, it is as much of a work horse chip as the one. We realistically play a 1/1 game.

FWIW Eric Scott (@Psypher1000 ) and Paulo were instrumental in helping me with the design/color scheme. I think we have a 44 page PM thread going between the three of us lol.

Eric's (wedge) comments are always welcome even if he is late to the party. I've known him for a decade plus. He is a good friend. He definitely kept me off the ledge when my oldest daughter was putting me through the ringer :)

auuuuuuuuuuuugh.........this wait if killing me. I was hoping to get this by the 24th. I still might...................*(#*($&#_@@##(@(

Patience was never my virtue.

For about a second I was really excited. I got a text that my chips are out for delivery. Even though I didn't get a delivery notice I was still excited. Then I remembered its the chips I picked up from @Psypher1000 . Guess I should tell me wife to expect a big package for a change.

I'll take them as is. Fresh out of the oven

Thank god for a due monitor. It comes in handy on days like today. No shipping notice yet :(
