Not Mine Buyer beware: Paulson Vineyards (2 Viewers)

Damn I know chippers love lighting money on fire, but that's kind of retarded.
Buyer beware, some random retard on facebook marketplace?
If you can't think of another word besides "retarded" to call someone, you yourself may very well be...
someone in need of some maturity and a thesaurus:meh:

No, I absolutely would not. I might try to have a reasonable conversation with the buyer if I was ill-informed when I made the deal, but once I agreed to sell at a certain price, the deal is done and I need to deliver in a timely fashion. The harder right vs. the easy wrong.

You're probably not gearhead broke white trash then. Take a look at the guys facebook, and people commenting about "how their glad it all worked out/he got his life together". Guys a loser and a fuckup whos finally getting it together a bit and you sent him money. What if he is a tweaker? This is FLORIDA after all. Your money could be in his pipe by now and what the hell are you going to do, sue him? Call the cops?

Pushing for a global ignore here...for your own sake STFU

Something tells me this forum is full of sheltered middle/upper class people with 0 street smarts. You never send money to random people off of the internet. Even my grandma knows. If the chips are worth so much either drive or get a chipper who is local to pick them up for you. Don't etransfer randoms off fb market then get butthurt when the sale falls through. Again, common sense.

Oh the irony . . . .

It is highly likely this deal blew up because multiple PCF members contacted the seller and offered him/her more money. And then after another deal was struck, yet more PCF members offered even more money. No kidding the seller decided an eBay style auction was in order.

Are we thinking the members who hunt down great deals and then hammer the seller with ever increasing offers are "bad guys"? The way this deal gone bad went down is like standard-normal these days.

Does anyone believe there wasn't a flock of PCF vultures circling these chips? They were about as sweet a deal as anyone could wish for. No doubt the various contenders poisoned the deal for everyone. Let's leave the poor seller some slack. It shouldn't be a surprise that when getting offers over $500 he doesn't find $30 so attractive.

I understand how some folks might be outraged. But me? I am more inclined to laugh. -=- DrStrange

Someone gets it!

Maybe someone should try to let people know that this seller might not deliver?

Maybe the average person has the common semse not to etransfer people thousands of miles away money for stuff off fb marketplace that is worth more money than they are willing to lose?

No matter what "the law" says, fb, kijiji and craigslist are all "cash in hand/goods in hand". Otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure. If you believe otherwise I know this nigerian prince that needs to transfer you money.

Not arguing your point, just curious - does PCF fall into this category of website/strangers for you?

Most forums like this have a feedback thread or a direct feedback you leave on a persons profile do they not? Hell there are even sites where you can post all the buy/sell transactions you've made online and send it to the potential buyer to show your history.

Again, you guys sound like sheltered middle aged, middle class white people. The whole world doesn't work that way. Somehow this guy doesn't take basic precautions when dealing with random people on the internet and I'm the asshole for pointing it out?

Hey I have 0 feedback and my name is Joe Bileau from quebec, send me your money and I will ship you 2000 mint paulsons th&c for $800. Look, I even have a picture of them! It's super legit guys, you can trust me!

Point taken now hear mine. Why always the white “race card?” I grew up in south side Chicago. Pull that shit with me irl and lose some teeth. I currently live in the poorest county in my state, it’s the poorest neighborhood by far. Raised in a trailer. Not one black guy in my school till i played in college. Stop with the race card. It’s played out. I have tons of black veterans and normal friends in my Rolodex. Your sir a a jaded anomaly.

I understand and don't really have a problem with this observation. However, a seller behaving in this manner does warrant a "buyer beware" don't you think?

Ok there tough guy. You grew up hood but think sending hundreds/thousands of dollars to randoms over the internet is a-ok and doesn't set off ANY alarm bells.

You do know that facebook, PayPal, and your credit card have purchase protection right? Cause it seems like you don't. Check it out, might help prevent some of your rants.

Point taken. Now hear mine. Most normal People Including myself don’t care what color your skin is. Either should u.

Actually, sheltered middle class white nerds are a specific demographic with little common sense or street smarts. Whether it's comic nerds, anime nerds, video game nerds, computer nerds, or apparently chip nerds, they display many of the same trusting overly naive characteristics. Which is great to have with people you know, but foolish to expect from random outsiders you do not. Get it?

PS I'm white. I'll play the white card all I want.

eBay is full of scammers both for the items and for ripping off paypal, but sending money to random people off facebook marketplace is perfectly safe, no worries here.... What world do you live in?
Did you just overlook the words "facebook" and "credit card" in my statement?

Here it is again incase you missed it

This is a repeated offensive racist stereotyped assumption of a group of people you dont know at all. I dont even know why you're flying off the deep end, unless of course you were the guy selling on facebook? From my understanding the OP is not "crying" about anything, more so just letting people know that he had a bad or 'shady' transaction occur. You see, most of us here have repeated transactions and have set a basic trust between each other. Its pretty obvious everyone in the world isnt trustworthy, but that's what PayPal goods and services are for. Still, the transaction is less than desirable for many of us here. I would assume 99% of folks here will simply make note of the seller and either choose to avoid said person or proceed with extra precautions. All of this excessive nonsense you seem to be typing is just in poor taste, and carrying on an arguement that isnt really proving any point. But I am sure there are several people here offended by some of your comments, and that's rather inconsiderate. You may call it 'sheltered' most of us are just more polite, open minded, and courteous, even to people who retract on sales. Everyone tends to get a first offense or opportunity to fix the mistake. Sounds like the OP got a refund, is disappointed, and merely just extending a word of caution to the people he knows to be his friends and or community. I give him every reason to be upset, and he didnt post anything in poor taste or to bash the guy, so I'm a but lost as to what message you are trying to convey here? Unless your answer is that I'm a woman and wouldnt understand for some sexist reason?
