Where are we at for chips supposedly in transit? Is everything that is likely to be received already received? Does this affect any of the numbers quoted?

What I meant was this...

How many people on this list would’ve have saved how much money if Poppin had been outed publicly by the first 3 that suspected they were getting ripped off?

I'll admit, I'm a fan! Field of Dreams, JFK, and Robin Hood come to mind for me, as well as Dances with Wolves.

However, for me, I was absolutely delighted to see him play the role of the terrible

Yes, loved his fantastic English accent in Robin Hood

Not only do I love Waterwold, but I liked the The Postman even more. Feel free to block me now :)
Waterworld gets way too much grief. Was it a good movie? No, not really. Was it a bad movie? No, it was a fairly average movie. It catches a lot of flak because it was the most expensive movie ever made at the time. For whatever reason, it has this enduring reputation as one of the worst movies ever and a box office bomb, but the movie was released to mediocre reviews and turned a profit when factoring home video sales. Cuttthroat Island, which is one of the biggest bombs ever, came out the same year and is largely forgotten. Depending on which sources you use, there are between 30-40 movies from just the last decade that have lost $100 million or more. Kevin Costner's decision to sell his soul to devil in order to become an A list actor shouldn't be used to besmirch Waterworld.

As stated above by a couple of others, certain members had been receiving their shipments during that time. Nobody had suspected anything until tracking numbers on several shipments ceased to update.

Thanks. It's really easy to just see the initial high figure and think it sucks, but when you put a face to the users and the amounts they were scammed out of it really adds perspective. Absolutely horrible how him and other scammers were able to casually make posts (not from a ban-perspective but a mental one) while actively deceiving people to such an extent.

Jesus, that's over $20k! Has someone started involving law enforcement in Poppins' country? Also, have people alerted this other site that he hangs out at, so the same thing doesn't happen there?

Fuck that poopin guy so hard. May he live a long and miserable life
I’m very thankful my first post didn’t get me banned, but when poppin first came on the scene to the forum, he would post a lot of comments in other people’s threads I did not care for. I knew right away the guy was a total Sh!t head… my stomach turns thinking of all the members who got screwed over from that guy. I appreciate and have much respect for what @horseshoez is doing to try and help all the members affected. Everything comes back around in full circle, and that piece of sh!t will get what he deserves. I wonder if a private investigator could track him down to press charges for this fraudulent act.

I've been watching this thread and it made me remember my one interaction on here where I got (somewhere between not made whole and scammed) - package came with 90% lower quantity than was offered (e.g. think a few chips vs a rack) and seller went dark. I was left with 5 chips when I paid for 100. Not a huge $ amount, but not something I'd want happening to anyone else. It was not a sale thread, so there was no way to leave feedback.

Well, this made me search for that harvester to see if he's come back around, and turns out he's back after a few year absence and made some offers to others. I PMed those who seem like they might be striking or have struck a deal with him about my experience.

What's the right protocol for this? I know some will say dox him, and some will say just let it go there's probably more to the story - but it would be helpful if we had a standard for how to handle these sort of interactions where so much of what we do is based on trust and reputation.

It's up to you, when all is said and done. However, I'd personally like to know about anybody that has previous when it comes to screwing over PCFers.

Just to add to this: I think it's time that we start putting people not getting absolutely screwed out of thousand of dollars above everything else as a forum — even if that means "outing" bad apples along the way.

In my opinion, there's a clear difference between doxing and actively looking out for other people's best interests.

I haven't been directly affected by Poppin's actions, but I know it's hit myself and a lot of others who haven't hard. It's been horrible to see — and enough is enough now.

Have you contacted him directly since his return?

The tough part - who gets to judge what's bad enough to be 'on the list'/publicly shared? We've seen some on here clearly willing to publicize spats over what most would see as insignificant items. And some things (like the details behind mine) are more gray - likely not an outright intentional scam, but a seller/harvester who didn't provide what was promised and didn't return the funds they took in advance and simply went dark.

Maybe like there is an HOF committee there should be a "Bad Buyer/Seller" committee to build list of 'caution advised' people and 'blacklisted' people, in clear cases only.

Yep, that's the tough part, for sure.

I don't think it needs any form of committee, however, if you contact them over the next couple of days / weeks and they continued to ghost you, then it's up to your own personal judgement. Personally, I believe not returning the funds and going dark to be a pretty flagrant offence — one that I'd want to be made aware of.

If you're having trouble making that decision, I'd probably just use the following question to guide you: if you were in another chipper's shoes about to pull the trigger with this seller, would you like to at least be aware of the information regarding something like this?

I would like to motion that this committee henceforth be named “The Committee for Public Saftey”
