Chateau De Noix (3 Viewers)

yeah, red is T25.

It's silly, but it never occurred to me that most people do it the other way.

T100. Classic colors. Maybe a bit of a layup and nothing daring here. My second choice I actually like better, but I'm worried about it clashing with red T25. Also, it's black and traditionally based in that manner, but a black chip is in every set I do, because they are always stunning.

And I'm really struggling with T1000 colors. Might have to be a community event!

Received J5 designed felt for my existing table. Finished felt was super easy to install. Even brown chips are easy to see. Can't wait to play for real on it. For now I'm posting some staged shots (sorry, iPhone). Red felt and table in build status. Share pics when it arrives.

Great stuff. You know I'm a sucker for a good theme and yours is rolling. Well done.

It might be a staged photo, but when I put the cards down, I always place them 9 6 , not 6 9.

Nice setups, bivey. Would love to see some home game pics some time.

I have been meaning to post these for a while now. Seating chips for 3 tables. Because of chip minimums, I had them made blank. It has been quite a struggle to find something reasonable to mark the chips with. Stamp ink will not penetrate the chips and wipes off even after three days in the hot sun. Sharpie has stuck but requires some serious penmanship to look reasonable.

Old West Poker Supplies made the chips and J5 did the artwork. 76 refers to my birth year.

You could do sharpie tally marks instead of numbers. I can see them being used for counting barrels in a wine cellar. It would be more forgiving of penmanship.

Go and browse Michael's (or other big arts/crafts stores) for permanent marking ideas. I'm thinking something along the line of paint sticks or markers combined stencils.... but the variety of different and off-the-wall stuff they carry is vast.

Might also consider hiring a calligrapher to mark those up. Those folks have serious penmanship.

The linoleum has been worn out at my local hobby lobby. Stencils are tough because they have to be the exact size to match the area of the chip and have the font/style that fits. Its a tall order and I'm picky, but that's the fun of all of this. Fortunately, I have plenty of extras and am using hand written ones until I figure it out.

Now a calligrapher, there's an idea I never would have thought of! (My wife wasn't too keen on helping me!)

Have you thought of putting a label on it? Either just in the spot where you need a number, or perhaps a complete clear label over the entire face?

Gear might be able to help you with it, if that's a valid option.

Mike

How about laser engraving? There was a vendor on CT who offered this. Not sure if he's still around.
You could fill the engraved numbers with paint afterwards. No stacking/spinning issues and it would just look right.

Hmmmm....

Putting a clear label over the entire face is a good and practical idea, too. Moreover you could always remove it if you come up with a better solution.
