Of particular note is the $1 chip, the side view shows some pretty significant bleed between the white and blue
It looks more like the edges aren’t aligned perfectly, which is fairly common. One way is to make the art have wavy edgespots like a compressed clay chip instead of straight spots.

The out-of-alignment issue will still happen, but won’t be as noticeable if the spots are curved and irregular shaped.

I would agree if artwork for edge spots is not accurate it will look like that. Do the other chip denominations edge spots line up. May be most noticeable on the whites. Any pics of other denominations?

Yeah, the desert palms set is designed accurately, that's just manufacturing error/variation as each chip is manually aligned before printing. I personally ordered a few extras in my last runs just to use to replace out the worst-aligned ones that come in.

Hey, Think my KGB chips are on here?? Nah, not yet and probably not coming in Port of Savannah. Hopefully won’t be long tho.

What does everyone do with the bump on the side? Do you sand it off? Does it add character? Is it too small to really affect anything? Is it actually the best place for the mold injection to end?

I was thinking the same thing, what to do with it.

Obviously the BEST place for the injection to end is under the label, but I assume that's not always possible

The bump does kind of annoy me to be honest. That’s why i stayed away from ceramics for so long. These aren’t to bad tho (speaking of my web mold set).

I do wish there was a way to remove. But for the price and customization of these i don’t think it should be a huge turn off.

I had a few chips that had a large bump on the Greek 43mm chips and I shaved it flat with a utility knife blade. Unfortunately, the ink doesn’t penetrate very far, so it ended up leaving a white spot in its place.
But that was only a 3 or 4 chips, the rest were small and didn’t bother me enough to do anything about it.

So let’s do this. You meet a beautiful girl but she has a very small birthmark. Do you date her anyway. My answer is heck yeah!
Bro! What are we doing comparing women to poker chips lol

But if we must proceed with this exercise then I have two thoughts.

First, I can overlook many things when it comes to women, because they're women. And I'm a man. Need I say more?

Second, even given #1, there are shapes and sizes and placements of birthmarks that I can't accept. Call it personal preference.

Interestingly, the larger bump that I’ve seen is on the other side of the chip from the regular injection mark.
Here’s a photo, the first one has the bump, and all others have a small mark.

However, I checked and there were only 2 chips out of hundreds that were larger than the small mark. The small marks are barely noticeable.

In all, it’s a non-issue really…these hybrids are awesome. And with any set, always buy some extras in case there’s a few with alignment issues, label issues, etc.
