Controversial Chip & Poker Opinions (13 Viewers)

C’mon

Don’t forget the classic Krish move to up the bid by $1000 as soon as he felt challenged. The groupies could hardly contain the big dick GIF’s that immediately followed - lol.
Not disagreeing with you, but there were plenty of instances where certain people / groups were bidding listings up out of spite, too.

Tina is actually a cult. If anyone wants my help getting out, blink twice. :D:LOL: :D:LOL: :D

Ya these are super classic and look cool because of colors and spots and the classic inlay design. But I repeat what I said about the other chips lol, not sure oversized inlay on housemold is well conceived. They paid a bunch of that housemold and then someone thought, "you know what, let's cover that shit right up"
I think it is simply a security function. You can't repaint and relabel a chip with an oversize label. The blame really isn't the fault of the casino. The fault falls squarely on the ass-hats that have counterfeited chips forcing the casinos to pivot.

If you're set has chips that cost $10+, your an absolute idiot.

I will not confirm or deny if my 1 barrel CPC add-on puts me in this cohort, or if I'm talking about USD or CAD, eh.
I dunno. I’m pretty sure any Paulsons that cost me over $10 would sell at my cost tomorrow if I listed them. Can’t say that for all chips of course, and there’s always some risk. But everybody’s gotta make their own decisions.

My hot stamped B molds are the best feeling and sounding CPC's I have. Something about the brighter sound clacking them together and shuffling. Not sure if it's because of the extra little bit of clay and therefore weight with no inlay, but here's my ranking of CPC molds I have sets of in terms of feel at the moment:

1. Hot stamped B mold
2. Inlaid DSQ
3. Inlaid Jockey
4. Inlaid B mold
5. Inlaid CSQ
6. Inlaid 44mm A mold

I’ve played with inlaid 44mm AMolds and they feel awesome compared to any other cpc mold I’ve shuffled.

My list would be just like yours only completely reversed. Haha. But I haven’t shuffled HS BMolds

It's not to say 44mm A mold feels bad. They feel great! That's not a comprehensive list, it's just what I have and like best! The other molds I haven't made sets on are the ones I'm not really a fan of.

This. I'm eyeing a certain chip to place at the top of my tournament set.

My 500s were $4 each
My $1K were $5 each.
My $5K were $8.50 each. But I only needed two barrels.

For a $25K chips, I only need 10 or so, and I want a 43mm in blaze orange, preferably an actual casino chip. So yeah, it's gonna be over $10/chip, and I won't likely lose on it if I ever decide to sell.

I would have order a set on 44mm scroll molds if the wait wasn’t so long, but I had a stack of ten and I loved them. But I’m kind of a sucker for 43/44mms.

I dunno about 44mm scroll molds but the regular scroll molds are my least favorite. The probably feel much better at 44 though

Disagree. Top hat and cane is old school class. And at least you can tell what it is.

That said, I admire anyone that has more balls than I to use that little dude for their set because the feel is superb

I can’t stand the look of the jockey mold either. Reminds me a bit too much of something like these

I ran across these 19th-century mother of pearl gaming pieces (listed on a non-eBay site) and was struck by the cutouts around the edges:

These were supposedly used in games like Whist and Boston, and designed to look like far older Chinese tokens.

I can’t discern what the cutout shapes are meant to be. But I wonder if tokens like these were an inspiration for some early mold designs which led to those we are now well-familiar with.

The overall look is similar though the material is totally different. And as I recall early Paranoids et al. were meant to simulate ivory/MoP.m

OK, back to controversy
