Controversial Chip & Poker Opinions (18 Viewers)

They lost the cost of the chip. The exchange was $1 for $1 on the books. They are +$1. The chips are a casino expense.
I just had to grab a post that was on harvesting. What’s the closest casino to Minneapolis worth hitting to harvest? Anyone know or is that a taboo angle.

I’m feeling naughty and apparently have her full support. She’s not getting any chips though but I might go all-in.

RHC hot stamped chips are likely the cheapest GPI chip, no? I thought the plastic chips cost a fair bit more.
GPI's Blue Chip hot-stamped solids are their least expensive chip offered to casinos.

GPI's plastic casino chips (B&G, Bud Jones) typically cost more than casino clay chips (as do other high-end plastics (Matsui, Abbiati), but I've never priced acrylic jetons (from any manufacturer), so I can't speak to those options. But unlike typical compression-molded clays, pricing on injection-molded plastics can get cheaper based on quantity produced (fixed set-up costs spread over more chips).

But cheap plastic (and ceramic) chips from companies like ICON are less expensive casino alternatives compared to clay chips.

Sets with mixed condition chips are garbage.

It is the single most important quality in making a mixed set work in my opinion. I’d rather have matching condition and very unmatching inlays or spots than the reverse.

This is the main reason I let my outposts go. I couldn’t get over the Mint/Tire/Tire/VG/EX breakdown. It’s also the reason I may trade some mint Binions for used ones if some other trades work out.

This isn’t controversial

Everyone should make change with neighbors.

Not the pot.

One of my regular games everyone does this except me. And a handful of times every night we have clusters where people say the posted and someone makes change, etc etc. I’m like just wait till the action is done and make change. Isn’t that hard.

I’m saying make change with neighbors BEFORE you make a call/raise.

It’s so easy.

Just post the correct chips, or get slapped

Tina chips aren’t cheap!

50 cents a chip is only cheap to members of this site, the chips many many pros play with in their streamed games wish they had these chips but probably think they are too expensive.

But, when I started this hobby custom initialed solid Paulson hotstamped chips were .40 each. I think spotted were .55. Oh the horror! So much per chip. If they and I only had known…….

50 cent Paulsons that's some Bitcoin ish right there lololol

I do think it’s controversial that people keep their card protectors in plastic. Why on earth would you deprive yourself the opportunity to handle such a beauty? You think you might lose 10% off the resale value?
SET THE CHIPS FREEEEEE!
I thought I was the only one who thought that way. If I can't 'feel' a chip it has no use in my hands.
