Just received a pair of COPAG Elites via Amazon. Have yet to play them (will post a more in-depth review when it goes through several hours of play).

First reactions though -

1. They are NOT the same as the regular COPAGs with a different card back design.

2. They are SLIGHTLY thinner (maybe 5%?). Putting it side by side with a standard deck makes the difference obvious.

3. The Elites are slightly more textured on the card back, making them slightly less slidy than the regular ones. I like shuffling the Elites a little more.

They seem to address some complaints the community has with regular COPAGs. The Elites are actually cheaper than the regular, at $8.99 a deck, with the regular ones coming at $19.95. though some people will value having a 2 deck setup with its own box. I myself kind of appreciate individually boxed decks as I believe they will prevent warping better.

Thanks - let us know after you have a session with them. I see them quite a lot online as an option but haven’t tried that version yet.

I put a set of Copag Uniques into play last night, and I had similar thoughts. They seemed a little thinner and more flexible than normal Copags, and the texture was a little different.

Good info. Thanks!

Do you by chance have any good closeup comparison pics that’s show the texture and thickness differences?

Do let us know how you feel the quality compares with other decks. I THINK Uniques are out of production now?

I put a setup of Uniques through our regular poker sessions pre-pandemic. Good setups can last maybe four or five 6 hour sessions (2 decks, hand shuffled, alternating).

Strangely a card developed a crack/chip along one of the edges which caused the setup to be retired on the second 6 hour session, if I recall correctly. I didn't buy another setup, not because I didn't like the feel, but because given the doubts in quality and I didn't really like COPAGs usual card face design, I felt there were other decks better worth the money.

I tried taking a picture but it doesnt really show the difference. The regular deck is on the left. The Elite box has this weird tab on the top, does anyone know what its for?

The difference becomes apparent when you push down with your fingers and you clearly see they are not level.

BTW, the top card STILL floats with the elite. The regular deck is slightly bowed and a good side effect is that when it bows the cards dont slide anymore =)

They were definitely a little thinner and more flexible FEELING, and were pretty easy to shuffle. The players liked them, and I felt great dealing them all session (I deal full time, players take turns shuffling the out of play deck). It's early, as they've only got 7 hours of use so far, but no issues yet.

This was a black/gold poker size jumbo index for the record.

Looking forward to trying these out as well, I have a pack arriving in a few days.
