They did a pretty good job with these, imo:

david, could you comment on which colors - if any - are easier to match than others?

i ask because i have in mind a set using color matching for yellow, red and black. are there iterations of either yellow or red that are more reliable? i was hoping to match regular yellow or retro red.
I'd think white....

my initial reaction was that bright white and black would be pretty straightforward, but honestly if you look at CPC black, BCC black and Paulson black right next to one another, there is a difference. it's a difference i could live with for sure, but a difference.

i just figured that maybe since regular yellow and, for instance, mandarin red had been used for quite a long time between ASM and CPC, they might be a little more predictable. i wouldn't really want to try to color match some of the newer colors (dg saturn, maroon, etc.).

We'll see how well J5 was able to match colors when I get my set soon enough. I know everything I've seen color matched has been real close.

Sorry, only just saw this post.
No colors are any easier than any other.
That said, anything remotely close does look like an obvious match on the finished product though. We've done this many times.

Forgive me if this is documented somewhere obvious, but can you guys manufacture chips with different inlays on each side?

Were all of the molds other than the FDL used to produce casino chips?

i imagine that someone can show me examples of a couple of these, but personally i've never seen casino chips on the B mold or the hourglass (class hourglass, yes, but not the modern version offered by CPC).

Can anyone give me their opinion of the Hourglass mold? I have a complete sample set I'm borrowing from Tommy but there is only one hourglass chip. I'd like to know thoughts on how they shuffle, sound, stack etc.

Also does anyone have any examples of the A-mold with 1 1/16 inlays? The chip creator lets you do 1 1/16 but I swear most people must do 1 inch on the A-mold from what I can find.

Thanks

I thought the hourglass mold felt like a cheaper version of the a mold if that makes sense. For some reason they just felt lighter and more brittle. I only utilized an hourglass hot stamped set once or twice. It was quite some time ago.
