Custom artwork group buy. US/CAN CARDS MOLD (15 Viewers)

Just saw the chips @Bobb59 just received...
Would not be surprised if I end up with 10k of these chips eventually

All of these chips are turning out so great. Well done.

Do you find that the edge spots are aligned well? Is each chip just off a bit? Or just some chips are misaligned? Either way, such a great value for these.

Observations:
1) I definitely think PCF should think about a new mold (at least consider it). Not that card mold isn’t nice but I feel like we have enough future purchases that the cost of a new mold could be spread out fairly evenly.
2) Tina and Co should think about expanding their operations ASAP cause I feel like they're going to be working 24/7 for the next 4 months at least
3) I've already mapped out my next 4 purchases totaling more than 5000 chips

Some are slightly misaligned as you can see on pics but alignement is pretty correct overall.
Do you know what % might be?

PS they look amazing !

I Stand corrected. I know they do have a faux clay design not dissimilar to that design with the cards. In fact, that's what my second custom set was to be on was faux clay with the cards design. I'll have to get pricing on whatever this is.
Pricing is outstanding! my 1700 chip set cost $495 (29 cents/chip) plus shipping cost from Sean once they arrive. Stay tuned. I expect group buy #2 will be kicking off before too much longer. The excitement and anticipation this buy is generating has brought a lot more folks here who missed out on the first one. (over 50 sets being produced - 70,000+ chips!)

Damn sorry, I just found out that GB #2 is full, we're still squeezing in folks from the first run though. GB# 3 just filled up yesterday as well. We'll make sure to go ahead and notify Steve when GB#4 is getting underway, we're scheduled for 2nd quarter in 2021 right now.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again ...

Who wouldn’t want that mold?

Did someone say “coke giraffe” mold?

In all seriousness, I think this is worth exploring further. Weren’t there numbers somewhere in this thread several hundred pages ago about custom mold costs, or no? I am curious what that number is.

No offense, but to each their own. I don't hate it, but personally would prefer something that is more unique or hasn't been done yet.

@ReallyGoodUsername have you seen this thread: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/polyclay-custom-molds.56544/

Some interesting ideas here. I really like the list of conditions set out by @BGinGA especially an attempt to get a chip with sharper edges. Although he wants to do a hybrid style chip with a laminated center label. And is leaning towards using Sun-Fly. So this is going to end up being a higher end item, not the no-brainer, bottom basement pricing we have here with Cards mold. I think there could be room for both - a higher end hybrid chip and a lower priced polyclay chip, both with new custom molds.

It's being explored. See my link in the above post.

29c a chip + shipping? So these are basically China Clay/ Scroll ceramic quality?

Interesting. Normally I use the quality of ABC/ BRPro ceramic or higher but LMK how they hold up with regular use and I'll look into it.

I only went with Sun-fly for my custom set because 1) the price was livable, 2) apparently even though they are light chips they can withstand a lot (except apparently a 500 pound man slamming his fist on the table or a hammer taken to it) and 3) I wasn't going to be playing treasure hunter for 3-4 years to get a set going.

I wouldn't equate pricing on this card mold GB to the quality (or lack thereof) of scroll ceramics.

Print quality of these vs scroll ceramic is much different.
