Where's the poll for who thinks robbie jade is hideous or hot?
So look I'm the last guy to be judging people by looks and so I can say she isn't my speed, but ...

She obviously doesn't make quality decisions, and you can tell that by looking at her, I think it's unlikely she cheated, based on my limited info, and WW account, along with a few other points ppl in the thread point out.

I've barreled in Greens with 10s on a JJ flop, because 'F U', and landed a 10 on the river - I get hitting, and I get a 'F U' call.

Here is the real kicker, I couldn't ever ask for my money back, I think it plays to character. I've had the generosity of large bets pushed back, but to ask ...

I think he honestly thought he he was cheated. I don’t know everything that went into that calculation, but I don’t think it was ego. Still, if he’s wrong, this entire incident is indefensible. And since we’ll probably never know, yeah, this is bad for Garrett.

I absolutely believe that he sincerely believes he was cheated. I think he's wrong, and I'm not even certain that his belief is reasonable. His premise is that no player would have called in that spot unless they knew Garrett's hand. I think that's a crazy premise. How many times have we seen players - even sitting down with six figures - make the absolutely worst calls for no good reason? People make mistakes, people flake, people act impulsively, people get confused, people are just plain dumb... and poker relies on that happening.

But as much as I'd look poorly on him for having an unreasonable belief, I still give him credit for being sincere in his belief and for acting upon that belief in a reasonable and ethical manner.

I think he's making a mistake but I don't think he's behaving badly.

1: As much as anyone that has seen his on various streams/shows
2: I don't dislike or like him, I've never met the man and only have seen him play poker on various programs.

Up until this I've thought of him as an above average competent pro which makes his behavior in this case troubling. I would assume that as a pro he has seen bad play many times before. But even if for whatever reason he feels like he' was cheated (which doesn't appear very evident to me or has been proven with anything other than speculation) he didn't shake this loss "like a pro shark". I can only assume he was extremely tilted to act that way. And taking back money lost at a poker table without any outright proof of cheating is not becoming of a professional IMO.
I don’t agree with your conclusions, but I appreciate your reply.
Yeah, apparently I’m just willing to give this guy much more benefit of the doubt than most people.

To be fair, we don’t know for sure what Garret’s premise is. But in re-watching the hand, this caught my attention: when the river ran out blank and the second river ran out blank, he didn’t mind. He was still smiling despite knowing that he had just lost $137k or whatever. But when he saw her cards, his face went blank.

He didn’t say a word for a full 100 seconds. That’s a huge long time. For some reason, that persuades me. He sat there and thought about that shit for 100 seconds. Maybe his conclusion was wrong. But it wasn’t some flip reaction.

Does anyone know the history of these two (poker and/or personal)?

What I find curious is she mentioned several times “You always let me do this to you”. Which leads me to believe this is not the first time she’s beaten him with a bad hand.

Not knowing their history and taking that statement (said several times) at face value - I can’t help but draw a conclusion they have some history. Maybe she’s that one player that just lucks out against him and he was pissed b/c it’s not the first time….?

I don't think there's any history aside from these Hustler streams. She's only recently played in a handful of these Hustler games.

It doesn't seem like she is actually bankrolled for the these high stakes (falling back to her Hendon Mob history). She was apparently being staked by Rip. So I doubt they've played together in other venues.

I think she's referring to one or two instances that happened off stream in a prior Hustler session. I think it's just a comment where she's trying to conflate the connection/familiarity between the two. She seems to wants his attention.

he (Garret) can have his suspicions and say he doesn't want to play someone, but to accuse without proof is VERY bad.

So im with the YES it makes him a suspect player to play with, only because he basically asked for and got his money back because he didn't like how a poker hand played out.

PERIOD.

edit: "having a lot of experience" and being well respected in the poker community carries weight but shouldn't make them the judge and the jury.

Negative 20 points for Garret

Ban him till he behaves like a respectable person, and apolofizes . Today preferably so I can collect $10 from @bergs
I let you buyout by 8p your time for $9.

(Waves drunkenly holding up margarita) “Hellllllloooooo, Garrrreeetttttt”. Tables T-high on a AAKK9 board. “There’s no L in WHEEEEEEEEE”)
If you had fake boobs, I would buy this 100%.

Yeah, I saw a brief analysis of their history and from what I saw her comment was bullshit. But there could be more history, I don’t know.

Here‘s how her stupidity went:
1. She calls G’s pre-flop raise $2.2k with garbage. [She should have folded, in my honest opinion. Defend $800 with J-4 os??]
2. She calls a brick flop bet with no draw and insanely low odds of hitting a J?
4. She bluff-raises another bet on the turn with worse odds?
5. She CALLS an all-in with nothing, even when she thinks she is out-kicked with G’s ace??

Calling the all-in with her best case scenario being making a pair of jacks was her only horrible play.

Defending with J4o is ambitious, but given her stack, it's not unforgivable.

On the flop, I'd rather see a raise (which would have told her how strong Garrett was) or a fold, but you can argue that flat controls pot size.

I don't hate the raise on the turn, although it should have been bigger if she was gonna raise. A min raise, especially given the size of the pot, didn't give her much info on Garrett's strength. The small raise then overshove led her to think Garrett was weak/drawing.

I cannot defend the call of Garrett's all in.

His flaw was thinking through the hand (and logic) through his eyes. I'm not saying you're wrong, @upNdown, just that Garrett's analysis of her play was wrong. She is not on Garrett's level. She is obviously going to make different plays than he does.

Reverse the hands for a minute and think how this might play out.

Poker is not chess

If you saw Robbi playing Magnus in a world televised event you might be confused and have concerns.

Poker is a great leveler. All are welcome. Have money. Will play

Because poker is dumb, and why the hell am I still playing this stupid game after all these years? One bad river can wipe out hours of hard work and skillful play. Am I a masochist?
FTFY, and I think I need a moment to evaluate some of my life choices.

if I was sitting next to her , and heard buzzing, I might get turned on a little
Only question I have is "was she squirming or breathing hard right before she called?

If no, then 'not cheating'.

Imagine the few hours of play like that.

Then imagine the hours of training that would go into perfecting a system like this. Probably not just hour, but many hours over many days, working as a team.
Lol

Just sayin that all you people that think the world and the events in it are ordered by some kind of logic or reason are in for a lot of rude surprises and at a fairly frequent rate.
Learn to appreciate the randomness and move on.

Not sure how long it takes people to learn this. Maybe some never do.

I called in to a radio show this morning (Eliot in the Morning for my DMV people) about this hand, even though I only caught parts of it, like the basic hand details and the cheating allegations....because they were butchering up the basic rules of poker and the two "poker experts" they had call in were morons.

I am very happy to see I got it pretty much right. DJ asked if I thought she cheated....I said I didn't know, she could have just been bad at poker. After reading up on this for an hour, I stand by that statement. Like @Windwalker stated, Ockham's razor....the most likely answer is usually correct: she's a fish that was hopped up on adrenaline, made an insanely bad play then tried to defend it and spewed nonsense.

Oh man I wasn't listening this morning (EITM is kind of hit or miss for me).

My opinion, which I'm sure you all care very deeply for since I'm a man who has played at a very, very high level (3/6 limit is very high isn't it?), stupid as I am I wouldn't have made that call (if in my right mind). Probably.

With that said, she did in fact have him beat.

I dunno, there's a reason I don't play at astronaut stakes. It is very fun to read the takes from the baller baize warriors here.

I made Eliot laugh pretty hard on air, so it was a win for me!

Which was a huge turnaround from me shouting at my radio "no, no no! You idiots don't know what you are talking about!"
