Not a good look imo. If it were up to me, I'd see that such actions resulted in being banned from participating in future auctions.

I can tell you with 100% confidence that I absolutely read the 1575 first and then cancelled my bids. Messages were being refreshed right at that time and I was posting as fast as I can for auctions. I read 1575 and then said I was bowing out.

To each their own though. I can say with a fair conscience that I didn't pull my bids when I was the high bidder.

If I need to make good on my 1570 bid, I'm ok with it. Thanks.

Just to be clear, you are not getting these chips. I am very happy with my bid. However. Just the mention of ‘all my previous bids are cancelled’ Is not proper etiquette. Period. Good luck in future auctions, but I do believe your conduct was in poor form.

I have no dog in this fight, but given this is a brand new member, with no reputation or track record on the site, this seems like shenanigans to me. Arguably, all bids have been compromised as a result. Who was the high bid once it was down to two bidders?

And given that he even stated that he was going to cancel his bids after running it up, all his bids should’ve been void at that point.

And I certainly wouldn’t want him bidding on any future auctions.

I don’t think the final bid was fair, as by his own admission, Changster was a fraudulent bidder. KK has a strong argument to pay significantly less than his final bid.

Frankly, I don’t see how anyone can take bids from Changster seriously going forward. The fact that he’s now running up the bid on the other BTP auction, compromises the integrity of that sale as well imo.

That being said, regarding this auction, i believe that while his actions very likely had adverse impact(s) on this auction, I don’t feel that was his intention. It seemed more like his attempts at psyching out his competition got out of hand.

Mods/Admin very unlikely to ban anybody for auction behavior, short of actual fraud or intentional deception. A much more likely outcome is the banning of ALL auctions as a result.

On the other hand, nothing to prevent auction sellers from refusing bids from certain members, for whatever reasons, stated or not.

Possible shill/shady bidders are on my DNS list, and that includes auctions.
