If anything, gloves provide a surface for the germs to live longer. Gloves are much tougher to clean than hands. That's why when doctors use gloves, they throw them away as soon as they are done.

4 players only at a poker table!
 
Is there a date stated that poker will actually be up and running? Sorry if I’m too lazy to read through articles and find it, just hoping someone knows offhand.

I’ve been following Deadwood SD as 3 casinos have opened there as of Thursday. Poker is stated as temporarily closed on any info they’ve posted. I’m hoping to go there as soon as cards hit the felt.
 
For Vegas, the Nevada Gaming Commission will have the final say, and that will come down to the casino's plans for cleaning cards and chips. That process has not been determined/revealed to the public yet. Poker is a tougher game to sanitize, and that may pose problems.

Poker rooms usually have a policy of lowering the rake if the game is short-handed to get the game going. Since 4 players will be a full table, it will be interesting to see if that policy holds up.

The rake question is a good one. Rake-lowering is usually a temporary thing. I wonder if they can find a take that would be acceptable to players and still be profitable. Maybe paying for you seat would make more sense, since you’d presumably get many more hands in, per half-hour or hour or whatever.
But seriously, who is playing at 4-max tables? In my experience, most regs have no interest in a 4 player game no matter how low the rake is. Maybe tourists? I dunno.
I’m trying to think of there are any games that play well with 4 players. Maybe OFCP, but that’s hardly poker.
 
We played ROE in the poker app with 4, and it was awesome.

I suspect that there will be a mix of "4 players is too few" and "any poker is great". Then again, I would officially be a "tourist". I only hoe that they have enough players to get a game going.

My trip will also involve a trip to the Grand Canyon for 3 days. If Vegas is too lame/dead, or there is no poker, we may spend more time at the canyon.
 
The Venetian 800 point plan to reopen now includes "...casino chips are disinfected at each table approximately every two hours, with additional sanitation procedures in place throughout the day."

I have not found the whole document online, so I'm uncertain as to how this process will take place. If it is UV, I question if UV rays will penetrate hooker-juice. If ultrasonic or other physical measures are used, this could mean (even if just temporarily) the end of gunky chips.
 
Because I’m a numbers junkie, I wonder if having only so many of these machines available will change the odds in some manner. I’m referring primarily to those machines which are connected with other machine at remote properties.
 
I'm more curious as to the 99.5% payback signs. By law, only 1 of the machines in a bank with the sign have to have the 99.5% (or whatever they advertise). So will the 1 machine have a chair? Will it be on without a chair? All those machines appeared to be "on", but they "social distanced" the chairs only, which means nothing to the electric scooter crowd.
