faded spade 3.0 coming out (4 Viewers)

Just out of curiosity, which card backs are super exciting? Most of them are the same “boring” type of design. Examples being Kem, Copag, Desjgn, Angel, Fournier.
Here are some others I just grabbed quickly. Yeah, there are others that are boring too, I just like interesting backs.

Agreed but they do come with more "personalty" if you want them to if you buy them from WPT.

The Modianos are also simple but I like to offset my busy looking chip sets with simple looking cards & vice-versa...

Got mine. Just shuffling them I feel they are a good balance between the 1.0 and 2.0, I like they way they feel. They still have a little slickness to them but it's definitely reduced compared to the 2.0's. They also have a glossier finish on them similar to the 1.0 but here it's more textured. Getting a picture of this is a nightmare with my lighting conditions and my phone camera, so take my word, or don't. The 1.0 backs basically have no texture, just the faces. The 3.0 have a decreased thickness of two 2.0 cards from what I can tell. Time will tell after I get these in a game and if the bitching and crying commences they will sit on the shelf, sadly.

Here is a pic of the thickness from 1.0 - 2.0 - 3.0

Thickness difference between the 2.0 (left) and 3.0 (right), 2 card difference.

Nay. I’m looking for something close to KEM. The lack of manufacturers producing bridge jumbo makes me open up my search. But these aren’t for me.
Then I'd go the Fournier bridge/jumbo linked earlier today in this thread. The same ones pictured above. Those cards are great.

Nothing quite compares to KEMs. Maybe Angels, but that’s about it. I would say the Fourniers feel more like FS 3.0 than they do KEMs fwiw.

Happy to hear they aren't as slippery as the 2.0, that was the only complaint our players had. Someone almost always riffled them all over the place every night.

No 4 Color Decks for 3.0 yet though, correct?

Earlier in the thread there's a pic, from today I think. They may be poker size though, if that matters.

They do have bridge size 3.0 four color decks. I have one and ordered another that should be delivered tomorrow.

Got mine today. 4 color poker size. Haven't had any previous versions, I liked these enough to order 2 more bridge setups. They shuffle great and deal great. Stiffest cards I have handled which actually makes shuffling nice, perfect balance of grip and slip for pitching cards. Bright vibrant colors, I love the index. I will rotate these with my Desjgn decks and see which we like better.

I'll be honest.

I don't like these. There's absolutely no texture to the card backs. They feel like the $3 decks you can get on Amazon. I'll sell one setup each of the bridge and poker size for my cost. PM me if you want them.

If anyone decides these are not for them let me know. I am looking at getting at least a couple of decks.
Sorry, didn't see this. PM me and I have one each bridge and poker size setup for you.

I think I figured out why I don't Iike these.

They literally feel like a paper deck. There's some texture on the cars faces like a plastic card, but the backs are totally flat and pretty much have no texture at all. Very glossy feel to them. I will say that they pitch really well and aren't slippery at all, which will make a lot of folks happy. But yes, they feel like the $3 decks that can be bought on Amazon made in China.

YMMV, but even with a little bit of slickness, give me the V2 of these all day.

Right now, it's V2>V3>V1 for me. With V3's closer to V1's on the spectrum than the V2's.

Thanks for the review. I don't quite have the same opinion about feeling like cheap decks but they are less slick. I personally like balance of texture on these between the 1.0 and 2.0.. It's too bad you don't like them, but thankfully there's other brands out there to choose from :)

Of course. I don't mean to trash the cards just because I don't Iike the feel personally. Those that didn't like the slipperyness and texture issues the V2's had will like these. Personally, I just happen to not like glossy card faces or backs. I like my cards to have any other finish. Linen, textured, or even matte otherwise like the King Australia cards have. I'd have a totally different opinion on these if the backs just had a smidge of a linen or grainy texture. It does seem that these are a bit less stiff as well.

I'm worried by this review...I hope I can cope with the updates. Otherwise I'll be looking for more 2.0 setups.
