faded spade 3.0 coming out (1 Viewer)

Mine came in.

I also added a comparison of the front and back between 2.0 and 3.0.

(blue backs = 2.0)

My initial thoughts, they feel more like Copag now and much easier to shuffle. They’re not as thick anymore. Also, the colors on 3.0 are more Vibrant

The 2.0 corners are more rounded too

Sorry in advance for the vertical images!
Kind of a bummer that the backs are the same old backs, but for me, I'll just be happy if they are less stiff and less slippery.

Ordered 4 bridge regular setups and 2 bridge 4 color setups, and the tracking number that I've been following this week just showed up with only the 2 four color setups. No other order information provided via e-mail, and there is no order history on the site.

Reached out to the contact form, so we'll see if I get a response. So far I'm unimpressed with the shipping runaround.

Also, there doesn't appear to be a way to tell when you receive your cards if they're 3.0 version or not?

The box will say 3.0

Maybe it's the four color cards that don't? Cuz my four colors don't.

I didn't think they had four color bridge cards before 3.0, so that would make sense.
That makes sense. These bridge 4 color sets are the one and only they have.

Just got mine. Need to change a car battery and get some work stuff done but will post a review later tonight.

Loved the 2.0s. Liked them stiff because I’m clumsy (yes that’s going into the out of context quote thread).

I ordered two setups (black/red and purple/green) and only received the purple/green. The shipment email says both shipped in the same package. I’m confused. I filled out their contact form and will post an update once I hear back.

I ordered the exact same thing and I only got my purple/green decks and no red/black decks. Just received them this afternoon. Hopefully the other decks will arrive in the next day or two. Just a bit confusing why they didn't ship together.

Here is the response from Faded Spade regarding the missing item in my order.

Hello! Thank you for writing. Your products will arrive separately due to them shipping from two separate warehouses!

Your other set of cards is being processed and should arrive to you next week.

Thank you for your business!

Already placed an order for more. The bridge 4 color might be my favorite deck ever. FS really nailed it. I like that the top card doesn’t slide off when the deck is placed on the table. They also seem like they will hold up really well.

So many posts about receiving the cards, but no reviews yet? Inquiring minds want to know — how are they?
I only played around 4 to 5 hours with them but I will say that I placed an order for more that should arrive tomorrow. The deck is thick similarly to the 2.0. I would say the 3.0 are less stiff but not by much. They are also slightly less slippery than the 2.0 when you are handling them. The nice part is the top card doesn’t slide off when placing the deck on the table. The 4 color deck is my favorite deck that I have played with out of any brand. My players loved using them as well but keep in mind that we used a shuffler and did not hand shuffle. They hated shuffling the 2.0s lol

Yes!
Any comments of how flexible they are, what the finish feels like, and if they’re comparable to other cards on the market?

I'm putting them into play this weekend, but my qualitative analysis so far is that they're less slippery than copags, but also slightly less flexible. I do not have the apparatus that the Redneck Card Database uses, so it's just by feel. The texture feels similar to Desjgn cards. I still prefer my Desjgn cards in terms of flexibility and friction coefficient. I only use bridge size, so can't comment on poker size.

As someone who doesn't shuffle properly like a casino dealer the stiffness of the 2.0 is what got old real quick. The thickness never really bothered me but when the cards explode everywhere I decided to retire them. The 1.0's were slightly too thin but had decent flex, the glossy back sucked. If you had slightly sweaty hands the cards would just stick to you hand.

If the thickness is the same as the 2.0 but less stiff and slippery then they should be good. I think my bridge decks arrive today, hopefully.

Received my 4 color poker size. Haven’t played but initial impression is very very good. Good flexibility, slippery but not to the point where the top card wants to float off the top when you set the deck down. I like the suits on the backs and I really like how the artwork matches the suit color.

I received mine. Poker size. I have only handled them for 10 minutes, so my quick impressions aren't worth much honestly. I really like the front font design of Faded Spade, and like the old ones mostly, but the stiffness and slipperyness of the old ones made them a non-starter for my group. From my first impressions, they have really only addressed one of my 4 dislikes from the 2.0 version, and that one is the one that I have never seen anyone else mention!

Comparison pictures, new 3.0 on the left, old 2.0 on the right.

Thickness/Stiffness - Seems the same to me. I compared decks. The thickness seems to be indentical.

Boring Back Design - Well, I guess if you think the alternating orientation of the spades on one row is a breakthrough... great. For me, same boring backs.

Slippery - Way to early to tell. Just have not handled them enough.

By the pictures, I bet you can easily spot the one problem that I had with the old cards that they actually did address. Anyone?

In an homage to Dix, I tried my best to design my own card-o-meter, but failed miserably! In my unscientific test, the flex is the same.

Awesome, exactly what I needed. They’ve gone and put lipstick on pig. No FOMO here

Just out of curiosity, which card backs are super exciting? Most of them are the same “boring” type of design. Examples being Kem, Copag, Desjgn, Angel, Fournier.
