Hosting again tonight.. last minute. Ha. Seems like that’s how they’re jumping off lately. I plan for a week or two, and stress as I don’t get enough players. I put out a last minute “query by text” and I fill up right away.

Started 9 handed. Lost and gained a few players. Haven’t caught any cards. Stack reflects this.

Art, Vegas Paul and Neighbor Matt get All in on the flop. Massive $300 pot.

AQ with flush draw vs Top set of Jacks vs naked flush draw.

Crazy run out. River boats up the set of jacks. But Vegas Paul shows a straight flush.

I see he's still running hotter than the sun. :vomit:

He sucked out even more to cash out up $500. After Paul left, we played 3 handed O8 for an hour, and ended the night when Matt suggested we do a 3-way AIPF O8 flip for his last $10... I scoop... which gets me exactly back to even for the night... I’ll take it..

Perhaps it was Paul who stole my horseshoe...?

In for $140 on the night. Sitting on $110 stack, and while 4-handed, Culver’s John announces last two hands (after hitting a few decent pots).. which would essentially kill the game. it’s pretty customary to announce a full orbit (with a full table) so we talk John into one final full orbit (besides, it’s his turn to call a game. He chooses 7 card stud, and in the last 4 hands I lose monster pots to each of the remaining players, busting out, lol... karma I suppose.. ;)

The biggest loss was to @BukNaked36 in 7 card stud, who chased a flush (hit it on the very last down card), to pip my flush which I made right away. I’m lucky I had any chips left after that hand, lol...

Overall, it was a great night. I can’t book a winning session every time I host, so the small loss doesn’t sting whatsoever. Quads over top boat, and flush over flush are pretty much recipes for losing, lol.

Great night - thanks again for hosting.

7 card stud brings an interesting new level of frustration as you watch your outs pop up in other players hands. Obviously I can't complain though as I binked that flush and had quads in another stud hand.

The Fat Tire Poker Room is getting improvements... based on recommendations from @inca911 we dropped some coin to improve his guest quarters. :). Plus allow some ventilation opportunities. Oh, and make everyone more safe in case of a fire.

You already had the equipment you should have turned that window into a door and have a separate basement entrance!

Too far below grade... restructuring the entire yard would have been cost prohibitive. And risking introducing water... I’m on a bit of a hill...

Semi-finished pics. We need to trim out the inside of the window and finish repairs to the landscaping. But so far we are happy with the results. Forrest May have a place to crash on his way down to the WCB this week...

Edited

We hired an assistant to help with trimming out the window and repairing the drywall.

Looks good, but we have to texture the drywall and finish the trim.

Lost our NLHE-only player so we’ve moved onto to mixed games. Rocking the WCB card capper

Weird situation happened (and a first for me)... I must have been really out of it, when my first 5 players showed up. I doled out starting stacks to everyone, and miscounted the red, giving everyone an extra $10 in chips. I made the mistake on the first stack, then just matched the additional stacks to the first, which is how it got repeated. I didn’t catch it until our 6th player showed up, and I counted his stack out for him, and realized the mistake. I mentioned it, and a couple of the players noted they thought the stacks looked big, but never completely counted the chips (trusting I knew what the hell I was doing). One player said he did actually count out the red chips initially, and verified he got 9 (supposed to get 7), but also never did the math in his head. I believe them. So I gave out an extra $50 in chips, and announced it was my mistake, so I’d eat it. I couldn’t expect (after an hour of action) that people would fork over $10 or have $10 in chips taken out of their stacks.. one player was super short, and $10 would have been a major chunk of his stack, lol. A couple of the players shipped me $10 on the spot, and we moved on. Just a weird spot.

I did announce that I’d just have to run good to make up for the shortage, which I did. In for $60(70), and out for $250.

On a side note, the poker room sleeping quarters was completely finished this week, with all interior and exterior finishes wrapped up.

That’s weird, but I don’t see why you should have to eat it. You basically gifted everyone $10. I would have been one of the people handing you $10 back.

Well, I agree mostly. Since I was a recipient of the extra cash too, I was only out $40. Two players who were fairly deep shipped me $10 right away, and the neighbor who was extremely short didn’t (I had most of his chips already, and eventually got all his chips). The other short stack tipped like $20 at the end of the night, after he rebounded somewhat. This was a small game of very close friends (most are my Vegas buddies and we all make regular trips to the casinos together). Gifting them $10 (on my mistake) isn’t the worst thing in the world to me.

I can’t believe I missed out on taking Paul’s $$

We missed you! And Paul was definitely in a donating mood... helped that he was playing online for big stakes (while playing live), and was a tad distracted. :). He said his CUP BR is like $10k, lol.

So Paul’s paying for everyone’s next Vegas Trip right?

Have taken a brief break from hosting... its fall and my busy time at work.. that and I’ve been playing D&D some as well.. not enough time. That said, I hosted a last minute game this Saturday and had a full table. I was owning the table for most of the night, except when I wasn’t... I’d build a huge stack, then get coolered. I’ve got AK, raise pre, flop comes AK2.. yup, villain had a set of ducks, lol. Then same villain tank calls my C/R jam with an OESD vs my flopped set. He gets there. but I kept grinding back up to only be down $100 for the night. I’ll take it. Played NLHE for a majority of the evening, but moved to circus once a couple folks left.

Thanks for the invite last Saturday.. While I was dead tired from travel, the game and the players were a blast! Looking forward to the next one. Looks like the foosball table sale went through. Congratulations! Now you have more room than you will know what to do with

It was nice to meet you Karsus. I’m sure we’ll run into each other at the tables again.
