Ya, the organizer actually runs a series of events around town. He hosts games on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, and Sun. All located a different bars around town. He also has toyed with the idea of customs, and has elicited my advice a few times to discuss custom designs... he purchased these chips against my advice. They’re horrible. When he first introduced them, people were constantly mistaking the 500 and 5k chips. Just plain dumb. Ya, and the security aspect is a whole separate issue.

What would you recommend at a bargain price - at $.25 per chip? at $.50 per chip?

His old chips (NexGen Pros) were worlds above the current chips, albeit still had the same security issues. Those security issues are hard to get around without spending much more on a chip. I think the only reason he switched was the Nexgens were getting old and dirty. So he went from a fairly decent $.15 plastic (non slugged) chip with good colors, to crappy plastic slugged $.15 chips with horrible colors (hard to discern apart in lower light conditions).

Last minute game. Not without drama. Up until a few hours ago I was in Cancun. Day before I come home, my regs ask for a game so I agree to host a single table cash game when I get back. What could go wrong...

It’s a direct charter flight. Flight times give me a couple hours at home to prep and account for traffic (drive is 1:20 from the airport). Well... we get back to the airport and customs and baggage go well, but when my family gets back to our car, we have a flat... the car was in for service two weeks back (tires rotated), and our locking lug nuts are missing the key. We are stuck over an hour away on a weekend, without a way to remove the flat tire on our car... and with a bunch of degens heading to my house.

After negotiating issues with roadside assistance and such, we were able to problem solve and limp back home. I roll into home base with 10 minutes to spare. I spread snacks etc.

@HanShot1st and @BukNaked36 making good showings.

Started with NLHE and tons of action. First hand a new player flops top set (queens) against the nut flush draw (which gets there) after a TON of betting. @HanShot1st takes it down.

Next crazy hand banker Eric accidentally flips up an ace dealing to me... I look down at my second card... an A... boo, but mistakes happen. My replacement card... an A... flop comes A high... crazy.

Some other crazy action chip shots we moved into plo and pineapple orbits

@chipweed makes a late appearance and sits next to me. We are discussing chips (as he’s into designing a set or two right now).

Considering a change to the layout. This would require a few things.

First. Here’s the existing setup. (Just focusing on the FT table) we do t have the second table up full time...

The issues are that to accomplish this move, we would need to get rid of the foosball table. Boo. And we need to rework the power situation to the LED lights. Currently I have no battery and it’s plugged directly into the wall. The new location leaves much more exposed area between the table and the outlet. Solution, get a battery setup, or maybe route a flat power cable under the carpet (for 5’)?

The issues with leaving it as is, that space gets cramped between the table and support post and also the wall. This will make a lot more space.

Who hates that I’m losing the foosball table?

Is there enough room to keep the foosball table, if you were to move the poker table closer to the bar? I would run a extension cord underneath the carpet, if it’s not glued to the concrete.
I like the new setup, opens the room up a little,
You could go the expensive route and just move the support post!
Think the foosball table is an added feature to the card room.

I agree about the foosball table. But moving the poker table closer to the bar still leaves the ends of the poker table cramped. In the pic, the foosball table is shoved against the far wall. It takes up a surprisingly lot of room when u allow space for players, not feeling cramped. If you shoved the poker table closer to the bar, then those folks get cramped...

my wife was talking about turning our formal, dining room into an mature game room, for board games, dice, and maybe foosball. Things her friends like to do... well, that and drink. I still think there’s not enough room for the foosball table without it looking cramped.

How often is the foosball table in use when both poker tables are running? It looks like you've got the space to slide the foosball to the 2nd table's location for "normal" use of the basement; if nobody is playing foosball when both poker tables are running, then it wouldn't matter if it's cramped...

Edited to say: I love the layout! I hope to have an area like that when we finally move out of the apartment.

My wife has a row of theater seats in place. I move these for the MTTD to accommodate a third table, but there no room for your suggestion. Wife likes these chairs more than she likes me...

I'm sorry to report that I will no longer be able to attend my first MTTD this year. Kids spring sports schedules have come out and unfortunately I will have to be out of town all weekend. I know it will be an amazing meetup, and it would've been my first PCF meetup.:(

Thanks @Trihonda for the invite...I'm really hoping to be there in 2020!

Kids only play one game all season? :whistling:

Hosted the MTTD last weekend, so little to no hosting foreseeable (at least for a week or so). Shout out to a couple of the locals who bested the entire field to take home the hardware... Mike P (snagged first place) and Banker Eric (took runner up). Both are super nice guys and always a pleasure to have at the table.
