Easier to split pots once you hit 7-8 players....

Thing is, the rest of the table doesn't look too bad. I see a hinge and a handle so there is storage in the base. If that hump is easily removed and can be re-fitted with a larger, table level felt, this could be turned into a decent table.

City is about ~50K, trade area of about ~260K. We don't have a dedicated space, so happily went with a Chanman table topper.

I wish I could send one of my family members in Iowa or Minnesota up to get it. I'd MAKE room for a table like that.

Disagree. You can build one exactly like that (or nicer) for half of what he's asking.
We weren't talking about building one. That's a completely different animal, and something a lot of people aren't capable of doing. If you can, then fantastic! You can have a super nice table for a very reasonable cost.

But we were talking about buying used, vs buying retail. I stand by my statement. You can't buy a table like that one, new, for a grand.

Even so, if you are willing to drop $1000 (the ad is actually asking $1350, down from an original $1500) on a nice table, you probably aren't worried about spending a little more to get something full custom - and new.

Somebody tell me whats so Fugly about this, that it can't sell for slightly over $1000 USD?

For me, three things are wrong (not fugly per se):
1. Wood race track is a definite NO
2. Cupholders in the table are a definite NO
3. Raised center felt area is a definite NO (table surfaces should be flush)

Other than that...legs (and stain) and rail look great. These are personal preferences and I am not knocking the table overall as some prefer these features. So I wouldn't say it's fugly but maybe people just don't want to drop over $1,000 on something that isn't exactly what they want.

With you on all that, I just find it puzzling. To get anywhere near that quality, or to custom further, it is double the price here; assuming a purchase, not a build.

I' d actually hire any fellow member claiming they can do better themselves for half the 1K price. :)

Totally agree. Personally, it's not even worth $500 to me -- I'd have to make too many mods to make it playable enough for me to enjoy it.

I can think of a half-dozen PCFers who could build a nicer table for $675 -- which is half of his asking price.

Shipping to Greece is extra. :)

Might be cheaper -and nicer overall, as an experience- to invite the builder to my home. He 'd be cheaper to travel, and less prone to mishandling / getting lost. :D
