Future of Paulson Fantasy Sets (2 Viewers)

Who is the best winer and diner we got?
That I can't help with. I'm an operations and finance guy with a small sampling of a sales background, but there has to be a career salesperson in this group that is willing to wine and dine.

If they left the consumer market due to concerns by casino operators, I am highly doubtful that they would be willing to come back to the market for orders that are unlikely to be higher than a few hundred thousands annually (at best). And I don't think even us as avid chippers have enough annual spending money to entice them to get back into this market.

I know the data is in a thread somewhere, but how many of the Horseshoe Cleveland chips were sold again?

The kicker would be the annual, and likely would have to be a contract of some sort. At this point, it might be easier and cheaper to start an actual casino.

Your search-fu is weak! The master has provided... ;)

Well, what a wild 3 months! I can clearly say the market was starved for Paulson chips! We have less than 4000 chips remaining out of 363,000 primary and secondary chips. I thought it would take us 2-3 years to sell all of these. Boy was I wrong!

A big thanks to all of our PCF faithful!!!! We couldn't have done it without you!

Here are the totals for all you junkies out there.

Primary
1 - 118,755
2.5 - 9810
5 - 80,955
25 - 41,625
100 - 23,640
500 - 10,860
1000 - 4350
5000 - 2640
25000 - 1500

294,135 primary chips total

Secondary

25 - 33,300
100 - 17,730
500 - 10,860
1000 - 3263
5000 - 1980
25000 - 1000

68,133 secondary chips total

362,268 is the number you seek...

I've often wondered if the whole lead issue had anything to do with them leaving the consumer market. I'd bet they're under stricter scrutiny if they're selling to consumers.
But since it seems like the whole lead issue was exposed and remedied up to a decade before leaving the consumer market, I guess it's unlikely.

Even if that's an annual number, it's not big enough. They would not want to jeopardize their relationships with casinos for $500K-$1MM in revenue. By the way, that demand was due to years of starvation, and I doubt PCF members (plus the general public) would be buying those many chips annually at $1.50/chip or more.

Sick! Huge demand. GPI is nuts.

You're right, huge demand. Huge demand for spot patterns and chip sizes that GPI will never make available to the non-casino market. Even if you could get GPI to consider re-entering the consumer market, they would almost certainly only make the existing fantasy patterns available. There would be no "custom" Paulsons made available. That's just too much hassle for them from a casino security perspective.

GPI sold nearly $31 million in chips to casinos last year. I am not saying one million dollar annual sales to consumers is inconsequential, but 3% of annual sales is not worth jeopardizing relationship with their most loyal (and highly profitable) core casino customer base.

Its a valid point. Why would they bother with the logistics of dealing with the consumer (customization, individual orders, shipping, complaints from OCD chippers etc) if the revenue is so small.

Hard to argue with this point.

This is what happens every time we start talking about contacting GPI.

I have two wild ideas.

1) Contact a card room and... well.. ask if they will order a secondary set that in no way could be mistaken for their chips and.. you know... sell them off for a profit or as tourist trash. Might make a good tourney set - NO CASH VALUE. If card rooms have a contract and have to buy chips annually anyway it might help them out too.

2) Find which state would allow the cheapest license for a card room - Order chips under a real company. Oh no, after one year we're out of business! We are exercising the "..no longer in business..." clause in the contract. Who wants to buy our 300,000 chips?

If anyone wants to try anyone of these I have $40. (y)

The first one is never going to happen. The second one? Are we really that desperate? I know we like chips, but if I were to go to that length to get a set of chips, I would question my own sanity.

I agree...I'm all for securing chips, but that's a wee bit fraudulent.

As much as I was for this, I think it's a pipe dream. Trying to slip something past a group of highly profitable businesses whose only goal in life is to slip something past someone else. Just seems foolish. That being said, I've been foolish most of my life, so if we do it. I'm in.

Are we really that desperate?
I did say I would whore myself out to someone for the opportunity to potentially buy Paulson chips direct from GPI...

So... are we really that desperate?

I don't know if I would call it desperation as much as I would call it unhealthy obsession.

Yeah.....

....

Goddamn this sickness.
