Both of these sets look really good. I think the inlay on the tournament set is the best out of the two. Oh boy this is going to be trouble. It's so difficult to find a reasonably priced Paulson California color set, I may just take the dive here.

If anyone in Europe is seriously thinking about ordering but needs to touch a few samples first, get in touch with me ASAP.

@mrplacey @200 Motels No foil on any chips.
How come we decided against the foil? I thought that would've looked pretty cool. Also confirmed that there wont be any 43mm chips anymore either?

Absolutely gorgeous. That purple T500 and the T100 are stunners. Congratulations to all involved.

I'm sorry if I missed this, but is there going to be a chance to purchase sample sets @Tommy ?

Should be in the neighborhood of $2/chip, I think. Final pricing will be posted any minute.

Also, order timeline and such should be posted soon too. I keep hitting F5, not that I'm excited about these or anything. :)
Thanks Mel,

I'm estimating on a 20,000 chip order, the cost per chip before shipping will be between 1.98 € and 2.18 € with custom inner ring.
Without a custom inner ring between 1.80 € and 2.00 €.

Am I correct in saying that we're not using a custom inner ring? Was that the idea of a glitter ring like Boardwalk chips?

OK, so THIS might be the one tourney set that I extend to 3 tables.
Anyone have a terrific 3-table breakdown that they love. I would want it to be flexible -- enough 5k that it could handle a 10k or 20k, even 25k tourney.

I have always been afraid to extend my favorite clay sets to 3-tables -- but plastics, YES!
Not having hosted anything myself other than fun nite home blackjack games for micro stakes, why the 3-table limitation on clays ?

@200 Motels In our case the inner ring is just for looks (not security), like having 3-colored chips instead of just 2-colored ones. Value of having them is of course subjective, no worries. :D

Probably because clays are both expensive and sensitive, and, as a host, you lose control of the guests' treatment of the chips, beyond 2 tables...

I think I'd hate starting with only 8 T25 and T100 chips -- much prefer 12/12. But 99% of my games will be 2-table, so this breakdown makes a LOT of sense!
Thanks Dave.

8x in starting stacks tilts me too.

Most of my sets are built around 3 tables, as that’s what I host for my two big annual events (spring and fall). Granted, I’ve only got close to 27 players a few times, but I’m ready if/when it happens.

Here’s my breakdown for three tables based mainly on t10k and t25k tournies, and 12/12/5/6/x/x base stacks:

350x 25
350x 100
150x 500
250x 1k
100x 5k

Add 50x t25,000 chips for an even 1,200 chipset and to cover Deepstack t50k events. If a t25,000 chip is not an option, then go 150x on the 5ks (but t50k tournies will not be feasible).

And round up to full racks if the partial racks tilt, and budget allows.

Any chance we will be able to see pictures of real prototypes before ordering?

Good idea
