I really want a set of these but $1000 for a 400 chip tourney set is causing me heartburn as I recently dropped $2k on a second set of cash TRKs. And I rarely host cash. Should I sell TRKs to fund plastics?

Let me see your TRKs....I might decide to forgo plastic :)

No.

No blue T25000..... :(

I was hoping for one too. I love the rack each of T500-T25k high roller set. I'd have been in for 200, and it would have made me up my order for T500 and T5000 for that reason too :)

That said...I love the tourney set SO MUCH.

If I want to do a tourney set to cover T100 base tournaments obviously without the T25K’s.

Is it too unwieldy to host T100 base MTTs without T25K denoms?

Can someone recommend a good T100 base MTT breakdown? To cover upto 3 tables. QTY of chips not an issue, can be > 1000 chips.

But, but, but........the T25 is so pretty!

That said, I want as many of those gorgeous T5000 on the table as possible. Following with interest about a T100-based set. I probably need to add more yellows to my order.

I'll shoot you over a PM of my thoughts in a few minutes.

I recommend starting stacks of:

10/6/11/x depending on how big you want to start. So, T50k starting stacks would be 10/6/11/7, 34 chips per player.

For 30 players at T50k starting stacks, you would need:

T100 x 300
T500 x 180
T1000 x 450
T5000 x 300

1230 total chips. This is with no extra T500 for color-ups. You would use T1000 to color up the T100 and T500. Add 60x T500s if you want to use them for color-ups.

Awesome thanks for the ideas on the T100 base! Also forgot about the MSK plaques route too. Sweet going to update numbers in my order later.

If you went with less T1000 (which I wouldn't because it is the best chip in the set :) ) , you could do 10/6/6/8 starting stacks:

T100 x 300
T500 x 180
T1000 x 300
T5000 x 300

1080 total chips. Round the T500 up to 200 for a total of 1100 chips.

I rounded my set up a little, so that it could handle 30 players starting at T25, and 20 players starting at T100. Seems plenty flexible. I'll never have 30 players, likely.

I love your sickness :)

I was talking to my daughter last night (the one that is working in Portland Oregon). I told her she should request the Seattle area. She asked why. I told her there was this girl I wanted to meet. My daughter started chewing my ass lol. About halfway through her rant she stopped and said "Is this a poker chip thing" lol.

The REAL sickness is that given this breakdown, I started eyeing my ES primary set, wondering what I'd have to invest to turn it into the same breakdown. Turns out, I'd have to add 340 chips. I might have to work on that :)

I'll drive to Portland to meet you @detroitdad. But you'll have to come to Seattle to play in the game with the "girls". :)

Would be worth a trip for the human company, the puppy company, or the chips alone. All three? Trifecta!

Absolutely!!!! I'm not sure where heather will be this summer. She would like to stay in the Portland area. She wants to get out of the hospital that she is currently at.

If we were there long enough. I would make the drive to play in a low stakes cash game/tourney with the girls. As long as I get to pick the chip set to hit the felt lol

So let's say there is an 8-player max $.25/$.25 mixed game. What's the minimum number of these chips that table could get by with?

Really depends on how many rebuys you expect. How much cash is in the pot at the end of the night? I’d add 25% to that.

You could probably get by with 300 chips, but I’d recommend more.

80x 25¢
100x $1
100x $5
20x $20

Bank of $1,020.

And just to add onto this...25¢/25¢ is what I normally play. Last weekend was wild. Not a normal game. Had 4 racks of 25¢, 4 racks of $1, and 2 racks of $5 in play. Again, not a normal game for us, but those kind of nights do happen. Must be prepared for it. Likely won’t be add-ons available for this set.

5c 10c mixed is my usual game. Thinking of upping it to 10c 25c. These could work. Might have to get some high denom for relabel. Might be too broke to do any of it. I have a stash of GI Joes and He Man MOTU to sell. That might get er done.

I tried 10¢/20¢ for a while. Plays the same as 25¢/25¢ if you ask me.

How many players did you have, to get 4 racks of fracs in play?

Well, I built the original 10 buy-ins with two barrels/player, because I thought we were going to play limit mixed games. Ended up playing PLHE only. So, all the fracs were out at the start.
