Harvesting Chips for Forum Members Discussion (5 Viewers)

I was just thinking, if you are betting $5.50, dealer probably thinks that $.50 is for them and will be sad to not get tipped. I usually throw $1 on top of my BJ bet and toss the dealer the $1 that is won and leave the original $1 on the stack. If you take each $.50, dealer will be bummed. Also, dealer might just give you a $1 and take the $.50 for a win.

I thought about that too so I was putting a dollar or two tip every few hands in front of my stack :)

Good karma, but increases your cost even more, so if getting someone a rack, add another $1/chip :eek:

Realistically it was probably less often then every few hands but it still was expensive I agree!

I didn't realize it but today was a terrible day to go harvesting because the casino was dead. There was one other person at the table with me and the pit boss was hanging out talking to my dealer and the other guy "a regular" at the table. I managed to get a little over a barrel of .50's and a rack of 1's but it was costly... as in over double face value. Had the roulette table been open or more people been at the blackjack table I could easily have snuck a barrel away every little bit and not had to spend much in the process. However a dead casino made it so the pit boss was all over the table with the "action" aka the 3 dollar table with two people at it lol.

Surprising the .50's were the easiest to get. I asked for 5 dollars worth. Put one into play, then waited for a dealer change and pocketed the rest of them. Unfortunately they only had about 40 of the .50's at the table so after I got a little over a barrel I had to stop asking for them so the pit boss didn't get suspicious as she did ask why I wanted any at one point...

I gave the rolling edge a quick 20 second wipe down per barrel and then spent maybe 5 to 10 minutes cleaning the faces of all the chips in the rack. Very light cleaning was all that was required.

Great start on a nice lookin' live set..... Like your explaining of how you harvest, I can relate as getting quarters out of Detroit is a similar type experience.
Good luck the rest of the way.

Nice Dan! I presume on a busy night you could move around the room and get up to a rack of fracs.

I was sniffing around the chipguide and saw that Tropicana Laughlin has 2015 issue chips. The spots are some of the newer Paulsons I'd see recently. Too bad it is a RHC series, but I have full intentions of getting a couple of those racks of 1s. It's a white chip with blue tri moon spots.

I just checked those out. Has the TH&C mold with denoms ($5,$25,$100) mold been out for a while? That is the first time I have seen it.

I think almost a year but don't quote me on that. Haven't seen many casinos use them yet but I imagine we'll start seeing more pop up to reduce the risk of counterfeit chips.

I have a bunch. Hard to find in any kind of quantity, and single chips are pricey.

With how small this casino is (the two times I've been there they've only had 3 or 4 of the 7 blackjack tables open) I could maybe harvest 40-60 x .50s in a night but only having that many tables open with each table only have 30 or so of them would make it difficult to get more then that I think. Tomorrow night myself and 2 buddies are headed there to try and harvest a couple racks of 1's and as many .50's as we can get our hands on. Hopefully I can get at least 60+ .50's so I can have one rack of them completed (only 240x more .50's to harvest after that to fill the rest of my order plus Slisks!). With 2 more guys helping me out I'm also hoping the 1's will be much closer to face value so I don't have to spend 2 dollars+ per chips lol.

Wish my luck everyone!

Tonight went well! Having two others helping me harvest was nice. I was able to get 59x .50's and 190x 1's. We moved to a couple different tables after we cleared out the 3 dollar blackjack table. They had roughly 30x 1's left and the pitboss was like "where did all your 1's go dealer, aren't you coloring up people before they leave?!" Lol. They had to reload twice throughout the night :).

Here's how the set is coming along

Which tables use the fracs in Detroit rags?

Thanks

yes, paigow table. it's a fairly easy game to learn and relatively inexpensive compared to others that have big swings. usually a $10 minimum bet and the game generally moves at a rather slow pace.

I'm probably going to harvest some racks of Bay 101 blues and greens when I get some time to play. I like Bud Jones chips

Just got back from some pai gao at a local casino. Seems like a good way to waste a couple hours and harvest some chips. Blue Chip casino this spring here I come! Lol

How did it go? (saliva dripping down my chin)...

Unfortunately I played at a different one then St Croix so no chip harvesting. This casino is only like 40 minutes away and uses super worn chipco chips :(

I think the Casino Matrix halves might be worth harvesting here in the Bay Area...

ERMAGARDE!!! Those fivers....I must have a $5 chip! Also, one of the snappers please.

Mmm....pink snapper... /slur

I'd be interested in a sample set too. 1, 2.50, and 5 possibly a 25 as well but I need to look up what it looks like.

I'm definitely looking for a snapper and a fiver (not a giant inlay, please...gotta see them V's!) from here. Wouldn't mind a $1 chip, either.

Thanks to anyone that can supply the mini-sampler!

If you can get a minty 1, 2.50, and 5 I'd definitely be game for them.

Its too bad the 1 isn't a blue base color. I like the spot. I'd still pay $150 a rack for 2 racks of mint 1s. Go get 'em.

I am going to Biloxi next weekend Jan 28-31, these are the people who expressed interest in the Scarlet Pearl chips. I have harvested a few chips here and there, not sure about getting racks, but I can try if serious.

@Psypher1000 $1 $2.50 $5
@Mr. Cheese $1 $2.50 $5 ?$25?
@slisk250 200 $1?

I'll pick up a few extra $1, $2.5 and $5 just in case and will bring any spares to the S@PIII in April if you don't want to deal with shipping.

PM me what you want and AFTER I get it, I'll ask for payment and shipping and such. Want to make sure I get it before taking anyone's $$
