Harvesting Chips for Forum Members Discussion (4 Viewers)

I am going to Biloxi next weekend Jan 28-31, these are the people who expressed interest in the Scarlet Pearl chips. I have harvested a few chips here and there, not sure about getting racks, but I can try if serious.

@Psypher1000 $1 $2.50 $5
@Mr. Cheese $1 $2.50 $5 ?$25?
@slisk250 200 $1?

I'll pick up a few extra $1, $2.5 and $5 just in case and will bring any spares to the S@PIII in April if you don't want to deal with shipping.

PM me what you want and AFTER I get it, I'll ask for payment and shipping and such. Want to make sure I get it before taking anyone's $$

I've got @Mr. Cheese on the St Croix for me. I'm going to pass on the racks. Thx Biggy!

I've got almost 100 of your .50's and all of your 1's. I also cleaned them all for you :). Only a little more then 100 .50's left for me to harvest and the two barrels of 5's.

That's great man! With any luck, you'll have it all by summer. I really appreciate it. You should probably send me your complete Terrible's wish list in another PM. I have some new arrivals. :)

Cheese you are one lucky bastard:eek:
Those chips are so sweet(y) :thumbsup:
This is the only score ive ever got from our local casino, chipcos :(
Sorry for bad ipad pics

Sounds like it might almost be cheaper to get together a group buy for a Paulson order directly but they probably wouldn't sell to us even if we got together a $20,000 order...

You're missing at least two zero's. Maybe consider it then but still doubtful.

Pai Gow Poker is a great game for socializing (i.e., drinking) because most of the time you're not doing much, and a large percentage of your hands will push with the dealer. If you're not sure how to set your hand, the dealer is allowed to tell you how the house would be required to set it.

Did some harvesting for a few folks and after a tip that Parx was getting some minty chips delivered I held out to see if they were getting any $1s for a member who wanted those. Unfortunately, they weren't $1s. However, if anyone wants mint $2s, Parx has released a bunch into the wild.

They're the blues seen here:

Okay, not chipes, but is anyone in need of Bud Jones oversized chip racks? I can grab either of the two types pictured below: all caps logo or script logo. They appear to be identical to me. Lightly casino used - no breaks/cracks, but obviously scuffed, etc.

Yeah, they have GameOn oversized racks as well, but if you're looking for those, just buy from GameOne since they're a sponsor to the forum.

I would take 8-10 of them if they are for 39mm.....don't care which style. lemme know what I owe ya

Thanks

PM coming.

They're pretty much all GameOn for the 39mm nowadays. Wouldn't mind getting them for you except I wouldn't want to undercut a sponsor of the forum as mentioned above.

No problem. I missed the oversize part in your first post about them

Jack, I'd take one of each type if they are 43mm.

No problem, Dave. I have one of each on hand, so I'll pack them up with the shipment I already have going down to you.

If you don't have extras racks after you send to BG, that's no problem. My friend has an extra, but I'll take two if you still have them.

Yeah I'm sending a couple to Dave and a couple more to some other folks, but while mine is not exactly an inexhaustible supply, it's close. I'll be able to grab a couple weekend after next since I'll be at Bergman's this weekend. I'll PM you to get your address when I've got them in hand.

Got the Parx sample set! Thanks @jbutler :)

No problem. Sorry they aren't in better shape. Unfortunately that place seems to be letting their chips go the way of the Taj. Hopefully the recent influx of $2s will be followed by the rest of the denoms, all of which could use an upgrade.

I think the Casino Matrix halves might be worth harvesting here in the Bay Area...
I was playing there the other night, such crappy feeling chips, was barely even sure they were paulsons, not really of fan of the "8" mold either.

Are these $1s from Jerry's still in play/harvestable? I'd be in for a rack next time somebody's in Vegas.

I would love a rack of Carson City Nugget $1s and a rack of Maryland Live! $2s (sharp edges, no flea bites) if anyone wants to give me a quote :)

As Mr. Cheese and I have found, harvesting chips can get quite expensive due to table losses. Poker would be a lot easier than BJ/craps/whatever, hell even Pai Gow cost me $400 ($200 me & wife each) for harvesting a few choice $5s and $1s

You would think, but no. There's folks I've done business with that regularly take far longer to ship. FAR longer.

Agreed. I'm one of the worst.

I always have multiple packages pending that require mailing, and usually the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Occasionally I'll find a large block of time and box-up/ship-out five or six at once.

Very few in play, definitely not enough to harvest. They replaced the giant inlay rhc version in 2013*, and there are very few of those in play, either. The place is tiny.

A thread on here got me thinking about harvesting chips for other forum members and how there are probably members on here that live near casino's that have great chips that others might be interested in.

I'm envisioning a sticky where people post what casino's they live nearby and are willing to harvest chips from. If you see a casino you want chips from you message that person and they proceed to harvest said chips charging face value plus shipping and possibly the cost of gas if they had to drive a few hours to get there? (Open for discussion on all details).

You would like the casinos nearby you and make the name be a link to the mogh chip page for that casino so people could easily click on the name and see what chips were at that casino.

For example:

I live nearby the following casino's that I would be more then happy to harvest chips from for people that wanted them.

Running Ace's
Canterbury Park
Mystic Lake Casino
Treasure Island
Grand Casino Hinckley (hour and a half to two hours away from me)
St Croix Casino Turtle Lake

Let me know what your thoughts are on this idea and I'll make a new sticky thread which would just have the casino info for casinos you'd harvest from (no discussion in that thread to keep it clean). Also not really sure what category it would go in but considering these would be chip purchases not for profit I thought this might be a good spot.
Let's get a game going!!!

Actually, IIRC there were fewer of the giant inlays. I was there in January and there were more of the standard inlays THC chips in better condition than the giant inlays. With some creativity a couple people could harvest by playing Ultimate Texas Holdem, the table game. I bought in twice for $50 each and got all $1's (it's a $2 minimum bet game). I only brought 6 of the nicer chips home but could have gotten more if I had been on a real mission to do so.
Like BG said, it's a very small casino without a poker room. Getting a rack or so is possible, but it may come at a price playing the games in the pit!

EDIT: Looked at silver-state-treasures.com site.....the standard inlay chip replaced the giant inlays in 2013.
I'm not a craps player, but getting them at that table could work too.
A couple people working together could get playable quantities. I'll post a pic of my 6 chips when I can find them.

Here's a pic. Mostly in average casino used condition, but there are some in pretty nice shape yet. The giant inlays were definitely well used.
