Hustler Casino Live (4 Viewers)

Ok. Watched short part of Berkeley talking about raining cameraman having real time info. Two way radio thing

Is it flaw in security? Yes

Is it a big deal ? No

Not buying that somehow there’s a 3 way cheat ring from back room ( more than one person in there) back room guy telling. Over a 2 way radio to a camera operator what the hole cards are, the. Having the camera operator feed that info to a player at the table.

Bull shit

Think the bloggers have list there mind

Also..

Wasn’t Bart Hanson the commentator on the night of J3

So all of a sudden he’s changed his mind, based in the ridiculous amount of investigation vlogs?
His short video shortly after J3 hand saying he didn’t think she cheated was a normal in the moment analysis of what he saw. AND HEARD

People are losing their minds here

Berkeys point was to show that the potential for cheating is there. He also spent a lot of time in his video comparing different stream setups and their security measures they have all taken. From what he said Hustler Casino Live was by far the worst of the streams he had looked into when it came to security.

Is this proof there was cheating with Robbi? No, of course not.

Does it mean that there was a reasonably accessible way for someone to get hole card info mid hand? Yes.

Does it mean "the kid" that later took $15k off if Robbis stack sent her any info? He certainly had the potential to do it from where he was sitting.

In the grander scheme:

Does the lack of security measures taken mean that multiple people (all commentators and more members of staff +guests) have/had access to the room with the computer dealing with the hole cards? Yes.

Is this something that should be fixed to make cheating harder/impossible to keep the integrity of the game going forward? Absolutely.

The filing cabinet revelation was from Polk, who got a tour of the control room. His concern was that it blocked Bryan’s desk from being viewed by the room’s surveillance camera. So you couldn’t go back and see what he was doing during specific hands.

Polk also made a deal about the better view of hole cards, would be interested if only on a single or multiple monitors around room. Understandable to discuss potential camera obstruction. Though still opinion with no proof of the new obstruction severity. People often think they've done something to obscure view unsuccessfully.

Agreed, this was more someone else could access their discussion. Let's imagine producer says Gman with a big bluff/monster, get the angle on him. Someone could monitor it and signal outside the room. Not very likely, but still a potential vulnerability which I think was the main point. Any time lots of money is at risk, systems need to be secure.

The short bit I watched Berkey was making a big deal of how this is a huge flaw

Meh.

Youd have to have multiple people involved to be verbally telling a camera operator the hole cards and then having it relayed to a player

At that point even the tightest security will not hold up to a conspiracy.
So no. I don’t think it’s a big deal

Berkey understands the tech involved better than any other vlogger I’ve listened to, and it seems you didn’t really listen, except to confirm your preconceived position. Try it again.

apparently, the communication from the control room to the floor was being done via unsecured 2-way radio that anyone in the casino could intercept.

this added to the fact that the control room and commentary team were in the same room and potentially had access to live hole card information.
I'm not watching that video, BUT

Anybody in the control room is going to have access to the live hole card information, whether they're the video team, the commentary team, or management. So what? In order to do anything with that information they still have to somehow signal it to the players. Having more people in the control room just means that it would be harder for a single conspirator to signal a player.

And as far as the comms from the control room to the floor being unsecured - again, so what? There's no sensitive information being sent across that channel. The control booth isn't telling the dealer what the hole cards are, so it's not like someone can listen in and find out what the hole cards are.

It's true, just looks bad IMO.

I mean, pretty much EVERYTHING that Robbi and Rip have done and said looks bad too, imo

It was upon condition of him returning to play the game.

Also. In life, Doing the right thing doesn’t mean ‘I can legally do this so therefore I’ll do it’.

It’s called doing the right thing for a reason

Wait, do you have "definitive proof" that was the case? Have you heard actual recordings of the conversations or seen video of the dark hallway where this all took place?

Robbi said she offered the money back if he'd continue playing in the game.

Rip is seen on camera saying that Garret "MADE" her give the money back

Robbi later says Garret "cornered and threatened" her and that's why she gave the money back.

How do YOU know which story is true without "definitive proof"????????

Please give me the timestamp of when it elaborates on more than.
‘There’s a two way radio so anyone can intercept what is being said, even a guy playing 1/1 limit across the fucking room’

This scenario needs

A) someone in the back room VERBALLY speaking in to the reading what the hole cards are. For what reason they’d do that I don’t know except to cheat. But they’d have to do it in the company of others in the back room
B) someone to be intercepting that message or being the sole recipient of that message.
C) that recipient then somehow communicating that information to a player at the table who’s in the hand.

Is it possible? Yes.

Personally I thinkIf cheating happened this scenario would get closer to an actual possibility than. Any other idea so far.
Bryan would text someone in the main room a simple ahead or behind signal and that’s what should easily be relayed to a player in seats either side of the dealer.
Still a stretch though

Bryan was also able to see the whole cards and the percentages.

Why would you signal ‘Robbis ahead’ when Garret was 53% ?

That’s a huge part Of this. And all these scenarios leave out. How stupid if a cheat do you hav STJ be.
53% behind. ? Great. Move in. Nows our opportunity !

You do see that all your ‘ what happened’ lines could have all happened in that one interaction don’t you?

Ryan has confirmed that Garret said ‘you could give me my money back’

This discussion about the radio contact was one of the things they discussed. You should really take a look at more of the video. I'm on my way to work, so can't give timestamps, but if you browse through it a little, I'm sure you'll find some of the more interesting stuff.

Edit to add: Berkey even said himself that the radio coms likely was not an issue 99.9% of the time, but was suggesting that over the course of time: (5 days each week with ~8 hours of streaming) there will likely be situations where important info can be taken from that radio communication. If the producer gets a bit too hyped and say something about a hand when he wants the camera man to film a certain individual. Maybe not super easy to use this info most of the time, but over weeka/months there will likely be spots where the producer say something that implicitly says what a player is holding.

But again, this was ONE of the smaller issues, and not really related to this Robbi v Gman hand, but about security in general and how it could be improved to limit the potential for cheating.

There's a few theories on this one. First off, she only needs 40% equity, so with 47% equity she's getting the right price to make the call.

Second, there was some discussion regarding the :6c: in the deck having been replaced. The theory was that in real-time the system was misreading her hand as :jc::6c: and so in the control room they think she has the flush draw AND is ahead with jack-high vs Garret, putting her in the over 70% equity position here (then when they see the card is actually a 4 in her hand and not a 6 it's corrected in time for the livestream, but in real-time in the control room they saw something different)

If somehow they know the runout and thus which hand will win at showdown, they can obviously signal her to jump on a big pot in this spot. It's not a smart move since it looks super suspect, but greed and desperation leads criminals to make mistakes that get them caught.

So those are just three possible reasons why they might be able to signal her to call in that spot

I heard him talk about a 2 way radio and then posited a theory that a cameraman would need to know what hole cards are.
Then talked about how ANYONE could Intercept that info
and that it’s a huge flaw because, Yes at some point in thousands of hands the need to communicate what the hole cards are will happen.

Please let me know if there’s something more that would shed more light.

I can’t watch another 12 hrs of Vlogging sleuths posit ideas and seeing what sticks

And ‘do your own homework ‘ is the bottom of the barrel end of an argument when someone has no more information to offer.

So wait, you're just believing whatever Ryan told you WITHOUT DEFINITIVE PROOF? How do you know Ryan is telling you the truth? Is there actual video and audio of this encounter? If not, you don't have DEFINITIVE PROOF, you have hearsay!

Yeah, agree it's not super likely that was the cheating mechanism in this hand. But it was one of many security issues Berkey et. al. discussed. I edited ny above post to add a long paragraph by the way. Sorry about that.

I’d heard about the exchange of 6c card idea before
A possibility for sure

I find it funny that people are demanding evidence equal to that of a high level murder trial in order to say that she cheated in a poker game.

Even if she knew every single card in the deck in perfect sequence, people would still be like “Yeah but where is the actual evidence? One time at my home game my friend guessed what card was coming next so it’s possible…”

The hand is over and done with now. We are never going to know what actually happened. Nobody is going to incriminate themselves further just to give Joe Ingram and us morons on the internet peace of mind. It’s not in their best interest, Hustler Casino’s best interest, or even the Court’s best interest.

The last thing Hustler needs is an investigation that sheds light on the lack of security in their Casino and the Court could care less about a rich guy losing a hand of poker. The Judge would probably tell Garrett “Tough break son, I’d probably be distracted by a purdy woman like that too if she was invited to my poker game. Better luck next time.”

You don’t drive big pick up truck with lifted wheels and a modded exhaust and have 3 or 4 giant flags attached fluttering in the wind do you?

The graphics are added to the video in real time. The producers are taking live feeds from the several cameras plus the graphics overlay and mixing them down to the final video in real time, just like in every live sporting event ever. The graphics showed the correct card during the hand, which means the control booth staff received the correct data during the hand and knew the correct card during the hand.

It was upon condition of him returning to play the game.

Didn't he go to sit back down at the game, but then Rip was violently threatening him, so he left?

If that didn't happen, yeah, it's pretty unethical for someone of Garrett's financial situation to take the money if he had no intention of playing again.

I can't afford it losing to all these fucking 1-outers lately.

Rip was being extremely aggressive to Garret so Garret decided it was best to leave before he knocked Rip the fuck out on camera I imagine.

No. RIP went out and started yelling at him when he saw Robbi come back in for the last $5k that Garret asked for because she was short.

Personally, I don’t blame Garret for not playing.
Someone starts going off like that I’ll have no interest in sitting down to play.

I also dont blame him for trying to get the money back asap if he thinks he’s cheated he knows he’s not getting it back.

But then you have to say, but what if she didn’t cheat?. He needs to be able to give that money back if there’s not enough proof of her cheating and live with it
Otherwise he’ll be a giant D-bag forever

Well, if they just set this up as a main event ppv, all parties could be made whole. What would be the undercard though?

Rubiez vs Sashimi - no beef, just two cute women.
DGAF vs Eric Person - similar energy imo
Vertucci vs ???

I can agree with you on this. I think IF Garret believes he wasn't cheated he'd give the money back and a mea culpa. The problem is the level of proof those of you who think she's innocent want vs those of us who believe she's guilty believe is sufficient in this case.

You all have a much higher and harder to achieve level of proof that may not be possible unless someone involved turns on the rest of the team.

While those of us on the other side believe that there is enough preponderance of evidence that cheating is the most likely reason for her call in this spot

Do you drive a Prius while wearing 8-10 masks when you’re alone in the car? And are there 16-18 bumper stickers on it that talk about tolerance and love, but then you attack anyone that might think differently than you? Asking for @Anthony Martino.
