Anybody else enter the main event give away? I entered late and only like 1000 people had entered which surprised me. You had to have a discord which might have slowed down some people.

I was considering it; what does the above mean?
I think it explains why not many had joined. You had to “like” a post in a discord channel which you can only do if you have a discord. Discord is a service kind of like a dedicated Team or Zoom except lots of people can join it and it functions like a chat / video / file share / meetings space all at once. Gamers use them.

What giveaway was that? Still able to join?

Alexandra is a smart girl. Why keep 800k in profits with hours to go in a stream just to do dumb stuff with … loan a half mil straight off your stack to the bank of keating and a kid with 300m youtube subscribers that calls himself the beast knowing the wires coming by noon tmw so even if you bust out the chips on the table you got a guaranteed half mil coming in a few days tops. Tilt security. Also to see Phil act rattled for ehh 5 straight hours smoke literally pouring out his ears was pretty priceless.

Top player Magnus Carlsen recently started playing poker with some notable success.
I don't follow chess currently, but I used to play many years ago. I would say overall it's a considerably more complex game than Texas Hold'em. If you have the ability to compete in chess at a high level, then you can probably learn to be very good at poker too.

Here is the Helmuth v Mr. Slime “fold” hand. Not only does he push his cards over the line but it’s his action and speech immediately after apparently asking to show his hand that is particularly scumbaggy. This is particularly bad form against rec players on a stream intentionally created to broaden the audience spectrum of poker. Opinions?

This. No awareness of the scope of the game and how many fresh eyes are watching. Absolutely embarrassing.

They should have voted Phil off the island two hours in and put in Esfandiari.

Guy punts $1.1M+, gets ripped, and totally takes it like a champ. Phil does has something to learn from these youngsters.

I felt he was trying to give them action and just put it regardless, just to help liven the stream more. Many people were saying beforehand this stream to help ignite another boom of sorts, and having these personalities when big pots would help that.

Keating is a good player from watching prior streams and he was crazy in this one. The guy is well off too so if this helps cause a big push in poker interest to a new audience, God Bless him.

I have only watched about half the stream so far. He just seemed to end up in bad spots. I don’t recall any truly terrible decisions that I have seen so far, plus, the action at that table was not typical HS poker.

Yeah and Iassume its obvs way easier to go frombwing a great chess player to being a good holdemplayer then from being a great hold em player to a good chess player chess is insane Dnegs is trying to become good at chess right now I believe lol good luck to him

They added Ninja…

Only person I knew from their side was Mr Beast im 36 im old now lol I barely know who Mr Beast is all that internet crap is crazy lol I mentioned it to my 14yr old nephew n he flipped out he loves Mr Beast lol

That was a wild game. Very entertaining. None of them gave a crap about money. Closest I’ve seen to a home game in a long time on a stream. Kudos to Feldman for putting that together.
They dont care about the money cause all of them maybe besides Botez are rich as hell and even she prob has some nice money aswell

I entered. I saw they said they’re only giving away the WSOP Main Event seat if they reach 5,000 entries. Last I checked, it’s at 3,500 with 7 days left. Hopefully it gets there for one lucky person.

I was thinking a similar thing. I could see another big poker boom coming. I assume after the success of that event, combined with seeing how much money a lot of them came away with, there will be a lot more influencers getting involved. This could get pretty big.
And hey @ww when are them new Hustler Chips coming those chips are horrible lol makes me not wanna watch the stream but sometimes the streams are really good
Oh my goodness, I was thinking the same thing! Those chips were so disappointing to look at lol.

Overall, I really enjoyed this event. I‘ve watched a lot of those influencers, so it was fun seeing worlds collide as they played with some familiar faces from the poker world.

Depends what you consider good I guess. So much of what makes players very good/great chess players comes from learning at young age and I guess having the time available, adulthood often comes with huge time drains outside of hobbies :P Would be fascinating to see a how kids brought up playing poker in the same way parents put their kids through chess camps and tutoring would turn out tho...

He didnt fold but hellmuth was bein a dbag all night didnt have to charge slime
I guess it depends on the house rules. He certainly didn’t intend to fold, but it wouldn’t shock me if he did, according to some rules. Has anybody checked if Hustler’s cash games have a rule that says he folded?
I spend a lot of time defending Phil, but he’s often indefensible and this was one of those nights. What a dink.

Isnt it at some casinos if u cross the line and take your hands off the cards its a fold like how if u cross the line with chips n take your hands off them its a bet or call or w.e ?
