If it was a move, and I tend to think it was, it's ironic how he has to stoop to that level to win a pot. I mean, he does like to say he's the best ever a lot, I think he even said it during the stream to that blue haired kid. You shouldn't need to make a move like that if you think you're the best player at the table, it really doesn't look good. For the record, I think he's a great player, I always enjoy his play. I'm not really a fan of his childish antics though. I thought he folded. Also, this is a spot where the dealer should have made a call, yeah? Apparently the dealer didn't think he folded I suppose.

See I think alot of the time it is phil just being phil u hear alot of people say that behind the scenes hes the nicest guy u will meet but he is just ultra competitive I dont think he was angle shooting it doesnt benefit him at all that lil bit of money in the pot literally means nothing to Hellmuth

Its funny cause I started playing 20yrs ago n when all my buddies found out about him they started calling me hellmuth I use to get so mad when people would play the quote on quote garbage hands until I grew up n you realize you want people playing that garbage cause 8 times out of 10 you will take their money

Imagine if Hellmuth adapted with the times and actually took the time to study the game it would be scary he truly is to me the best tourney player ever even last yr he made 7 final tables at 57yrs old but his cash game is pretty bad but it always has been
Yes and no.
Yes I agree he wasn’t angling - he just flat out would never do that.
But no, even though that little bit of money means nothing to him, he doesn’t know or care. He wants to win hands at any cost WITHIN HIS CODE OF ETHICS. And although his code would never allow him to angle anybody, his code would absolutely allow him to take full advantage of that situation once it occurred.
And for the record, all things bring equal, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the way he took advantage of the situation. It’s just that all things weren’t equal - the other guy was an amateur, essentially a whale, and a little more decency or even generosity would have been a lot smarter.

I do agree even though for me over the years Hellmuth is my fav player it is getting old, I wish Dnegs would have been in this line up instead of Phil would have been 1000% better

Her reaction (or complete lack thereof) is pretty sus imo. I’m with Garrett.
Cheating or not, I've never seen Garrett rattled like that. He's very calm, collective, analytical, and can get over bad beats quickly. At first I thought the lady is just a donkey, but reading around 2+2 and rewatching the stream, I'm leaning more towards cheating.
I'll throw a wrench into the whole thing. I posit that Feldman and Vertucci engineered the whole thing to get some more buzz around their HCL brand. It's lost a little bit of sizzle after the big high stakes week with Keating.

She had J3 the previous hand. She did not check her cards after saying “3s no good?”. Very odd… I’m guessing Garrett will give the money back.

To be fair, with all that plastic surgery I'm not sure she can express a reaction/ emotions
On further thought the facts of the hand and in my opinion her lack of reaction are certainly suspicious but thinking back to Postle he tended to make river plays (usually raises he knew they couldn’t call) using his info. Here, there’s another card to come and gman has an open straight flush draw. It’s not like she’s trying to raise him off a marginal hand with J high, and it’s not like Garrett didn’t have substantial hand equity left.
Like even if you had knowledge is this really the spot to call off 100k with J high against every possible out?

It reminds me of postle in that she couldn’t articulate why she did what she did. She even busted herself saying she thought Garret had A high, and he’s like “so you called with J high, why?”
Yeah I’ve never seen Garrett sit like there with nothing to say for so long. He didn’t know what to say, but he certainly wasn’t okay with NH.
I'm unfamiliar with her, but apparently she's a student of Faraz Jakka and has been playing on stream games for a while.
The whole hand just didn't make any sense, and her explanation didn't really either as she just kept saying he bluffed her before and she knew he didn't have it. The problem is she loses to so many hands like AXcc, KQcc, all the overpairs that he chooses to take that line with, any AT, JT...I could totally make a case for calling with the Ace of clubs or even any ace, the call with J hi just doesn't make sense for a 3x pot shove call.
Not to mention calling J4o from the straddle is atrocious in any scenario, and she folds K7hh to a single raise in position a few hands later. The flop float I can see making a case for with backdoor clubs and straight options, but on the turn she's drawing to exactly nothing and no show down value. Check shoving would at least have fold equity in her favor, but check calling off $120k? Smells really fishy...

She's also wearing really weirdly tinted contacts, that or the glasses was my first thought of a possible cheating method.
Her exact words were odd too though. She kept saying “you let me do this to you.”
Just a weird choice of words.
