But, if she knew exactly what he had, it seems ridiculous to pick a flip equity situation where you’re the slight underdog to put your entire stack at risk.
This is what I keep coming back to. If she knows both cards, she's still an underdog. IF she has that information, she's very bad at cheating. Unless I guess she also knows the runout/order of the deck. But if that's the case seems like there would be much better (read, less obvious) spots to take advantage of.

*IF* someone is cheating in this game I imagine it's because the RFID table is compromised/hacked. I would very much like to look at the design and what type of computer is hooked into the RFID antennas. I imagine it could be a Pi or something under the table. If someone has physical access to the device it is probably hackable.

I made a Poker RFID table more than 10 years ago and have a very good understanding on how this works. It's definitively doable.

1. Hack computer that reads RFID tag data
2. Have 3rd party analyse hands in real-time. (you only want to cheat when it really matters)
3. Send sekret message to Villain using wifi-enabled anal beads.
4. Profit.
If I may add to your in-depth analysis

In this case that may not be necessarily "anal" bead...

So much about this makes zero sense whatsoever. My main two issues:

Her “I misread my hand” excuse doesn’t hold much water after she stares down her hand before calling. Incredibly suspicious and inconsistent statement.

Second. If she is cheating, calling in that situation with a card to come with basically no equity is just absolutely mystifying. This makes no sense at all.

I’m rattled lol.

Garret has always been gracious in losing and has a ton of experience. His spidey senses say something ain't right and I believe it
The look on his face after being called is the man knowing his number came up on that big bet with air. Gracious and accepting of his fate. Once the cards are rolled over he knows something majorly fucked up just happened.

I'm reserving judgement on this, but giving the money back is suspicious as hell.

Not really, I have a small ranch style house with 0.18 acres built in 1970. It gets the job done though. Close to work for both me and the wife.
Another humble brag! I live in my parents basement. Actually it’s more of a crawl space.

Just kidding!! I can’t wait for the day my mortgage is under $100k. Might be awhile….

I have a lot of co-workers that live in Northeast MD. Not sure if you are anywhere near there. They all have nice size homes with lots of land and for a good price too!

I think she just didn't want to be pushed around and just said F-it. Not a smart move but maybe she can afford it. Does anyone know who she is and what she does for a living?

On joeys show she claims to have been involved in medical or pharma field I think, but she did it all her life and made a bunch of money and quit to play poker....

That’s a really nice area and you can get good bang for your buck, as long as you’re not commuting too far.

I’m down in Phoenix MD which is east of hunt valley. Farm country north of Loch Raven. Nice but not the kind of value you can get in North East.

I think this is a logical and possible explanation. Players that aren't very good are also terrible bluffing targets. Sometimes they get frustrated being pushed around and just call even though it makes no sense.

That said, If I tilt and fall ass backwards into a winner like this, I'm keeping the money.

I think she thought that if she gave the money back that would be the end of it. Obviously not the case and as a myself and a lot of others feel, possibly one of the worst things to do in the wake of this.

it will be interesting to find out how cheating occurred, if it did, given these shows are normally on a 1-2hour delay.

i'm defo on the side of bs given that she called off a 3bet turn jam of $135,000 with jack high yet her hendonmob suggests thats more than her entire lifetime earnings.
Hendon mob is public live tourneys only

No public cash

No private anything

No online anything (except for maybe WSOP online bracelets? Not sure

Her call makes zero sense. People like to take sides and jump to conclusions, but there are lots of conflicting issues at hand:
  • If she was going to cheat, is this the spot she would pick on a livestream? Makes ZERO sense
  • If Garrett had flipped his cards and shown her the 7c8c, would she call? would you/anyone call 130K with J high? Mathematically you are not ahead, even though your Jack-high is technically ahead of 9-high. This is regardless of how much money she supposedly has (and in LA, everyone is a lot 'richer' than they actually are)
  • Garrett's reaction after the call is completely understandable. If she flips over Ace-high, or even a drawing hands like KJ, KQ or J3 for bottom pair, or even deuces, one can say she put him on a draw and called light/super light. Calling with Ace high can often (and very frequently) be attributed to good reads and a soul-read, but calling 130K shove on the turn with Jack-freakin-high is somewhere between brain fart and very suspicious behavior.
  • She had J3 the hand before...it's possible (and even highly likely) that she still thought she had J3, even though she looked at her hand for 10-5 seconds, again, before making the hero/dumb call.
  • But if she had set this up to be the 'cheating' hand, she could/should have flipped her card over and jumped out of her seat saying 'OMG, I misread my hand...I thought I had JJs (or J3)'
  • Even if Garret thought he was 'cheated', he should have just walked off the set and let an investigation determine the outcome. $130K to someone who has probably won close to $2 million on the show isn't significant, and taking the money back was probably impulsive and out of line. Cheaters like Postle would never even consider giving a dime back to anyone, let alone immediately after winning a massive pot.
  • Her explanations after the hand, her body language during the hand, her table talk...all questionable. She has played in a lot of tournaments and plays some decent size cash games, but she is still an amateur and understandable how she would be rattled and spew off a bunch of non-sense. We have it in our game every single week when someone tries to explain their horrendously played hand, going runner runner for $25K and after 15 minutes of rambling... it comes down to 'I don't have to explain myself... I was just gambling'.

Overall, a clusterfuck and no one should say, with near certainty, that it was or wasn't cheating... but people like to take sides and justify their position with 'facts' .... 'by the way, did you all see the chair was vibrating?' ...LOL

As long as these shows exist and there is a card reader + transmission to the booth/live event, dubious individuals will try to find a way to hack and cheat. Some will do it with the good old fashioned look over the shoulder and see his cards (and have someone at the other side of the table do it and signal me)....Some will take days, weeks or months, but given the super high stakes they play these days, continued breaches/cheating should be expected.

If she is being fed info they have from an employee with access that knows the outcome of the hand (maybe possible with the shuffler reading cards and the system knowing what the result will be?)
If she really has this GOD mode thing going on, then there has to be a million better, less subtile spots to pick.

You joke but this might actually be what’s happening:
Very possible and not saying that's not it but I find myself bouncing my leg(s) quite often so could easily move a chair like that.

Also FWIW, if I'm ever putting a year or two salary into a single pot and I'm not cheating, I hope that I have a little more than jack high.

I would suspect the card reader is compromised as well. People say "oh a cheater wouldn't call in such an obvious spot", but we've seen with Postle they do
Could very well be. Not a huge fan of conspiracy theories, but it's 'funny' how the card reader at HCL somehow stopped working 100% of the time after they change the felt (I believe to a WPT felt)... again, who really knows. it could be something or nothing... but there is a lot that needs to be investigated.

Please seriously someone explain this to me like I'm 2 yrs old. Everyone should be calling. 110k to win 160k as a 47% dog with eliminated cards or 55% fav if unknown muck.

Calling is a +EV play considering the money already in the pot, so if you know the cards you should call for sure. But I 100% agree that it still makes zero sense to pick THIS spot to cheat.

For the record I think those % evaluations take into account mucked cards etc. So the true eval might have been different
