Sure, I was just commenting on the previous question. Basically at this point relabeling is the only way to go, and that will require @p5woody permission (and hopefully design input).

They do make good re-label candidates though which could also help us meet the MOQ for the T25K. :cool

Will the manufacturer sell just the labels? If I had a choice I'd get a bunch of $5's and remove the label so as to use them for T25000's.

Something like this:

Really? The orange and red are so similar in color though, to be neighbor denoms. I could see the $5 as a T5 though, to make the tourney set T5-based. I would love that, because I love the red chip...but no way am I doing inlay replacement on that many chips!!

and my bet is the answer is no, Abbiati won’t sell the labels...but Gear could make them.

Did we decide on an NCV like what @p5woody had suggested?
Tommy answered the question a few messages above.

Abbiati isn't going to make tourney chips to be used with the cash set and vice versa. We already talked about it. I also don't want to delay the GB anymore going back to the design stage as we are already behind the schedule I wanted to keep.

Best bet may be MOQ on the T25k for relabel project.

These are hybrid chips, correct? A plastic molded chip with a label... Can anyone describe how they compare to the Sun-Fly Polyinno chips WRT weight, slipperiness, texture, shuffling, etc?

They are very different from the Sun-Flys. For Sun-Fly, my reference is the prestige group buy from last year, the outside was ceramic and the inside was a glossy label. The label is seperate from the rest of the chip but they are the same 'finish' between the chip and the label.

They are plastic, but they are not like Matsui. Matsui is clearly plastic with a sharp edge depending on style. These have a softer edge.

They feel almost rubber in a way.

I can send you a sample set from the crown plaza group buy if you are serious about joining this GB and I may have some of the Sun-Flys left as well.

I like the feel and texture of these chips much more than the Matsuis. Much less slippery and they shuffle nicely with the texture. I agree they don’t feel as hard or sharp as some other plastics.

You're right on that they're very close.

I just figure the spot color differences on the two would help prevent dirty stacks. Plus, even in my deep stack tourneys only a very small number of the 25k's see play so re-labeling them wouldn't be that big of a chore. No matter what version of them I choose I won't have more than a barrel.

Their labels aren't like other manufacturers' labels. They are extremely thin. I doubt they would sell them separately, or be able to be exchanged without damage.

I might try a PayPal money pool for collecting payments. It seems like a great way to collect for a group buy while also making sure no error G&S payments.

I set one up, but I'm not 100% on if I will use it. It looks cool, though, lol.

The downside is that everyone who contributes can see each other's names, although you can choose to contribute anonymously. But that creates a problem for me as I won't know who it belongs to, which leads me to try to match up exact amounts and hoping no one else had the same total. There might be a setting where I can choose not to show the names.

Anyone want to test it and send me a $1.00? I'll PM you the link. I'll send it back to you. :)

looks like a cool idea. Does PP take a cut?

I can also test if it helps.
Cool, I want to change a setting not to show names to see how that works. I wonder if that is between contributors or includes me too.

Does the pool work for people who's PayPal account is not based in the US? I know for me the Canadian version of PayPal lacks a lot of features that the US one has...
