Let's not devolve into conspiracy theories and assumptions of cheating. I'm sure there were some orders put through that didn't match percentages out of honest mistakes or poor calculations, but I'm also sure there were some (big) orders that worked AND met the percentages properly.

Someone has to get the front-row seats to the concert! :)

Not a conspiracy theory. I know for a fact this happened because I talked to someone who did it by accident. They didn't realize they were doing it incorrectly. They weren't trying to cheat either. I'm just saying it was inevitable. Too many people were going to accidentally not follow the instructions.

just want to say thank you to jim for continuing to be a wonderful source of chips to the community. i participated a bunch of times in the past and it was always a crazy event. just got a sample set this time.
remember guys, no one else works this hard for us, so let’s not bite the hand that feeds.

Agree, thanks Jim!! hyyyyyped sale

Congrats to all of you who landed some of these beauties and could afford to order insucj quantities! God Bless You! I skipped this sale because I would have had to lay out more than I wanted even for a small set. The resale will no doubt be insane with what these cost to get in the first place. Again, if you can afford to buy em, God Bless You. I’m looking forward to the next Chip Room sale where I can buy some great used chips, clean them myself and enjoy using them while I can still afford to eat! Jim is a top notch professional and makes this sometimes unappreciated hobby more and more enjoyable. Peace.

looks like some of the grand opening chips are available

I suspect the 5s were just a filler chip to get the numbers needed for the higher denoms. They could also be used in a tourney set so it was a safer buy than the 1s. If bought for filler, and the quantities are high, they'll be on the market soon.
$5s are the obvious max order limit filler. Anyone that maxed out a tourney set will have used them to meet the criteria while also being able to use them in a T5. Anyone ordering a cash set needs them but also used them to max out what they would need to fill in the fracs limit.

Add that onto the fact that $5 are generally the easiest denom to sell in the secondary market, and that they are likely part of every single order in this sale, I'm not surprised to see them sold out.

Missed out. Wanted 200 $1, 200 $5, 40 prim $25, 20 second $100. Was at a birthday party and couldn’t log in earlier and in first hour percentages wouldn’t have worked anyway.

I can see one HUGE possible problem @TheChipRoom , you don't have to be a member of this forum to buy chips in this thread ! I logged out, cleared my paypal, was able to click on the sale link, that is as far as I got , since there are no chips to buy. I would think only members can buy in this thread, but am I wrong ?

I think the 3pm was harder to order by according to PayPal order went in at

But I know I started when Verizon said 3pm but I know I was not fast to do it all in 4 seconds.

Thanks @Gear for correcting me.

Be patient, folks, and keep checking back in. It will take Jim awhile to weed through the orders, cancel some, reassess what's actually still available, and add chips back to the cart as he sees fit.

I'm confident that's the case. I just hope Jim gives us some notice (and waits some hours or days) before re-adding any sought-after chips to the pool.

But I know I started when Verizon said 3pm but I know I was not fast to do it all in 4 thousands of a second so not sure what clock I should use next time lucky for me it was not cheating, I try to always follow the rules.

That's 4 seconds, not 4 thousandths of a second. Plus you're comparing Verizon's clock to PayPal's clock which are not necessarily identical.

AFAIK you do not need to be a member or logged in.

I also wanted to say thank you to Jim. About 8 years ago I sold 300 Paulson classic $5 in order to pay my rent while I was going to school. I'm so glad I was able to grab some of the grand opening $5 chips, which will go well with my classics.

Wasn't talking about what you said. I'm referring to (and I quote) hacking, trickery, javascript, and "investigation needed". Plus the not-so-subtle innuendo directed at some of the more veteran members of this site.

Crazy how fast some of the denominations sold out shortly after the sale started. I was a little surprised how fast the $5s sold out.

I made an effort, but came up short on two key denoms. I wasn't about to make an effort to rebalance the order. I took a shot, and missed. I've already met people today that have had a much worse day than I ever had.

Life goes on, and my bank account stands at the ready for the next big thing.
