I might have bought chips today had the proposed add-on sale been announced ahead of time and it was clear that chips of all denominations were being held back. Then it would have been worth the risk of buying something "incomplete" so to speak, knowing it could have perhaps been completed at vendor prices instead of after-market prices. Please take this as constructive feedback, because that's all it's meant to be.

That's exactly what I did too. I was logged into PayPal already and immediately alt+clicked each link to open in new tabs. Went to my cart and within 15 seconds they started disappearing tight in front of my eyes as I entered quantities. I think my issue was a PayPal glitch though perhaps? Not sure.

Yes we would obviously like add on sales. Is there any way to restrict to this site possibly? I know this is probably not the best for your business but my guess is the people on this forumn including myself are a large percentage of your customers.
Side note are all chips still available in the resale?

Same thing happened to me. I'd update a qty then the screen would auto refresh and it would show just one denomination on the screen. Definitely seemed like something on Paypal's end.
Was on the road heading home from Kansas City. Connection just to slow. Nada.
That stinks to hear, paypal was acting funky for me too! I did get it in though. Maybe you were trying to order more of the rare ones?

Makes me wonder what the percentage of sales to non-members was.

Just out of curiosity, are you saying that no orders are likely to get cancelled because everyone kept within their percentages and by the rules?

In defense, the percentage system worked pretty well, and members were definitely grouping together to do buys. @TheChipRoom Thanks for setting up such an awesome sale! Best shot I ever had at some mint paulsons. Came away with a great set, just had to sub out a couple of choices. If you want to prevent crashing the site next time, you could solicit an email list and distribute the links that way. It would still result in a lottery set up though. Thanks for bringing such a beautiful set to market!

Same boat for me when some of the key chips I wanted were gone.
I imagine the addon sale will be the same feeding frenzy, don't think I can do that again.
Thanks again for doing these sales, just wish there was a better way. At the very least I saved money and dont need to explain anything to my wife.
Not only that but I got an email about the upcoming sale. I assume this was sent to all registered forum members and not just active ones who would have seen the sale organically and were posting in the threads.
I don't fault Jim or Tommy for advertising of course, but it would have been cool if the pre-sale was exclusive to active and aware PCF members.

@TheChipRoom do you intend to post what denominations will be available ahead of next weekend (not necessarily quantities)?
This is exactly how I did it, probably took 15-20 seconds.
This is what I did too, was able to get all the way through to checkout with my selection, and then got an error when submitting my sale. Somewhat disappointing, but what can I do.
I'll echo some others in saying that the option to just add a complete playable set rather than selecting individual chips might be an option worth exploring for future sales.
I'd prefer a lottery system where everyone has a few days to submit orders and then Jim goes through them and fills them randomly.
That's actually a great idea.
That is pretty interesting. Everyone submits an order by timestamp deadline. Chiproom can review and void all orders that don't follow whatever rules are in effect. Remaining orders are fulfilled by random lottery. Ultimately there will be the 1st order that can't be filled. To keep it simple, maybe buyers choose 1 of 2 options ahead of time: 1) fill as much of order as possilbe given remaining stock, or 2) cancel order if it can't be filled in full.

Unfortunately that is always a possibility, be it here or with other products that are sold this way. You always have “that guy” who promises to make his buddies a buck from them ordering on his behalf to a completely different name and address. No shame in some people’s game.
