Jolly Roger - Another CPC Set (1 Viewer)

Dig it. This is what I was kinda thinking of…

Definitely interesting to see! Cool spots for sure and played around with just now for a bit, but think I just like the base chip more personally after a good mull over it.

But now I think I'm at the point that I just need to sleep on it for a week or so.. personally love where the overall set is at (even if just me on some things, ha), and struggling to not just place the order now.

Appreciate everyone's comments so far! Still open to changes of course, can be stubborn on some things, but every set so far I've made has deeply benefited from everyone's help/guidance here. Thanks!

As a fee for my views, I will accept a deal of me paying for 1x sample set + shipping…

Yeah, does look great - but not sure if I could pass up on multiple inlay shapes. Will need to soak on it.

LOL.. never heard that one before, have only heard it in reference to the pirate symbol, but next you're going to start telling me about a famous gigolo out there too. ha
It’s a Roy Rogers. Never heard it called a Jolly Roger. I like the label a lot.

LMAO...my apologies, i love creating as much as you do. I can't stop tweaking my own ideas so I can't help but to play with your set!:p:ROFL: :ROFLMAO: Love your work Cratty. This is my favorite set that you have created by far. You have been quite the addition to the forum.

Jewel... interesting thought.. not exactly where you were likely going, but.. I could get behind this.

Edit upon edit... waffling... like this, but in the end I think I'm leaning back toward the chip above.

That 500 is a beauty, what a gem (pun intended). I think its fits in this lineup standing out like a purple diamond/jewel in a pirate’s treasure chest.

Alright folks, order's in (1200pc set + samples).

Thanks @Sprouty for letting me borrow color samples today (as well as convincing me to bump up my qty of $5 chips, ha).

Now to move on to the next idea... seeing the horsehead mold in person.. makes me want to make a Godfather themed (e.g. Tropigala) set. LOL

Glad to help! Let me know if you need anything else!

Ancestors' sins harm descendants - to eternity.
Due to their grandparents' crimes, poor German members cannot and will never be ethically able to make a Totenkopf chip set. :cool
Edit: of course, it's not their fault to have been born German. No soul has ever chosen where to land.

The more I look at this set, the more I wish the text/wordmark wasn't violating the skull - I want to see the entire skull - the 'hero' of the artwork.

Another part of me sees a fairly refined script font, and pirates seemed more like an 'unrefined lot'. A rougher more distressed font might bring out more of the fearsome character in a pirate theme set.

I absolutely LOVE the feel of the parchment paper - treasure map background treatment.

Devil’s advocate here, how are you going to pick a mold without knowing how it sounds in shuffle stacks?

I find the scrown feels significantly different than circle square and the sound is different as well.

Because for better or worse.. I lean more toward design than shuffle/sound. Future me may kill me if I become more picky, but at the end of the day.. just a risk I'm willing to take! Other aspects to me justify the price difference (shaped inlays, manufacturer, edges/no ripples, wear impacts, etc).

And to @MrWookie69 's comments, good thoughts, but personally just have different taste, which may not be better! I did want to somewhat hide the skull, and liked a less gritty more "elegant" text feel. But my personal preference only, which may just be mine. LOL

Would love though to see more similarly themed sets where people go harder into the theme, which I still may consider down the road on a Tina run.

I own a rack of ewings (St. Maarten's Kairos $100s) and they feel and sound great in my opinion. I don't think OP will go wrong with them.

Cool beans. Love giving out some thoughts - and as always, love your work. That just me nit picking. Otherwise, freaking print it.
