Life is Grand! (3 Viewers)

I was always told there were 20 chips in a barrel.

Well... we can put an upper limit estimate on the possible number of chips. If an RHC chip is approx. a cylinder 39mm in diameter and 3.16mm in height, then each chip is ~3,775 cubic millimeters. A 55 gallon drum is 208,197,648 cubic millimeters, so ~55,000 chips per drum, less some because they aren't actually liquid. Just eyeballing each one at 85% packing density puts it a little under 47k-chips per drum.

Sounds like a giveaway counter expert.
 
Better to not trust the chip guide to be completely inclusive of all chips available. Most of the time it's correct on the common chips.

I'm excited to see what secondary chips will be available for this sale. Maybe a sneak peak this weekend? :)
 
So excited to see the 5k coming...
I wonder if they had 25k like HSI and HS Cinci.

So I'm new to chipping, and this will be my first sale. Any tips, tricks or things to know. I would be looking for a tournament set, I would say between 500-700 chips. Am I dreaming or is this attainable. I really dont want to get my hope's up, just to be crushed with disappointment. Will they announce the date and time of the sale or will it just be a surprise???

Jim will announce before when chips will go on sale. There will be a set time and depending on the chip, some quantity limits. Look at some of his previous sales here:
