Mirage Closing July 17th! (1 Viewer)

Loved that place.
Wish I had more time to add on to the $5’s

And for a Hard Rock? Brands are interesting.

Do you think there will be any retired Mirage chips on the market coming out of this? Or will they just get recycled for the next gig…

They will all be destroyed. For those interested, I did some harvesting over the weekend and it took quite a while just to get a passable rack, all the $5's are pretty well worn

I walked through it on Thursday to quietly say goodbye. Very sad to see it go. Stayed there with my parents when I was 12 and saw Siegfried and Roy. Was my usual place to play poker and blackjack. Saw Danny Gans in 2005, and Terry Fator years later. I always felt it was one of the least smoky casinos on the strip. Not a huge Beatles fan but saw Love a bunch of times.

What a shame. Of all the MGM properties to be sold, The Mirage had to be the one?!

As I'm new to the hobby. Are people harvesting chips so they'll become "rare" given that they'll all be destroyed?

I am new to the hobby as well. Started with the Mirage and jumped 10 toes in. It is cool to have a piece of history that many people have found memories of. I was able to "harvest" a decent stash going there a few times right before they closed. They became very greedy with the $1s down the stretch. Last chance to get them before paying "mark up" prices for them on the market. They should become more rare over time. Although I've read many casinos have over $50,000 in different chips so not sure how rare they will become. Probably not in the short term.

Where do you find the space for all this? Lol

I found that felts let me get the feel of getting a table but with out the physical space it occupies.

Luckily my wife let's me store Terribles blackjack table in dining area (for now). No way I could fit a second table in there. Hopefully next house I can have a large game room.

Let’s see those mirage chips! Awesome tables. Saw those and they were priced pretty fair. Great buys!
Ahhh so you were the other EBAYer who got the second felt!! I was offered 120 for the first felt and got it then when he listed anther felt I offered 115 and he tried to counter with 130. I was like okay never mind... then days later I saw he sold it for 105 or 110. I was like that Mother Trucker.... lol

I'm so glad to actually see it on a table. It's exactly the table I want to throw it on but with a Deckmate and I want to cover the dealer tray. Where did you end up picking the table up from? not GG direct right?

You know……. I took the dining room table out and put a roulette table in. The roulette table will get more use than the dining table. As for the other tables…… My husband and I are building a house and we have designed a Gameroom in it.
