My Journey As A Professional Poker Player (19 Viewers)

Did you meet Neeme too? You’d think Brad would be a little less like that as a new dad. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Neeme wasn't there for this meetup, but I've met and played with him before

If you engage him, he'll respond and is friendly. But generally is pretty quiet/reserved otherwise

It's funny too cause it was the day AFTER I played with Neeme that I decided i was going to return to vlogging again. Missed an opportunity to get some good content as Neeme was splashing around and I managed to win some decent pots off him that night.

Just saw your last video. Are you sure you want to name the clubs you worked at? Aren't you burning bridges here that you might want to cross later (i.e. for other clubs)? Maybe edit it to say place #1 I worked at, place #2, etc.

It doesn't really add to the video either, you're basically saying "Don't be an idiot". Other than that, great suggestions.

My audience has always appreciated my authenticity.

Shit, I have Poker Jeezus fly by shouting "Poker Jeezus bout to nut all over this biiiitttcchh!" so I'm not particularly known for my political correctness either.

And yes, I could use generic designations for the clubs, but there were points to be made about branding, logos, color schemes, etc.

At the end of the day, working for both of these companies ultimately was one of the lowest points in my life, with tons of frustration, stress and disappointment.

If my video costs me future opportunities, maybe it's just saving me additional heartache.

At the end of the day, it was cathartic, and if it helps someone else find success by avoiding mistakes I pointed out, or tapping into ideas I mention, then the video served its purpose.

Fair enough. I was thinking there's a risk of you burning a bridge to the industry and future (cooler) clubs by making a video where you shame/piss on former employers. I might be wrong and it is Texas after all*. :)

*-There's a (semi-)regular expression here in Norway where we say "The place was Texas/It was Texas" meaning crazy/wild. I was fairly underwhelmed when we were in Corpus Christi and they closed at 1 am. Same with Houston and Wichita Falls I believe.

Yeah, it's certainly a possibility that it kills my chances for future opportunities to work for others. For now I'm just going to continue playing, continue growing my channel and whatever the future holds we'll see. I've worked for so many knuckleheads I'm not all that eager to get stuck working for more of them.

We don't have actual casinos in Texas. But I can assure you, all the card clubs I've visited in Houston are open until early in the morning. I've never heard of them closing at 1 AM.

Yeah I wasn't very clear but I was talking about bars and night life. Also the 90s.
Ahhhh, gotcha. Yeah, I've heard that complaint about the US from Europeans. We have an expression here in the US that many of us have heard from our mothers, and many of us have used with our kids. "Nothing good happens after midnight." As a young adult (like 35-40 years ago) I thought I recalled that most Houston bars closed at 2 AM. Maybe they've moved it up to 1 AM now. I wouldn't know. Even when vacationing, midnight or so would be the latest I would ever want to be out. Unless I was at the casino playing poker!
