New Casinos / New Chips Thread (8 Viewers)

Has anyone ever tried to remove an oversize inlay? Even with damage to the bottom of the hat, those might be respectable as relabels.

I can’t decide if these are amazing or horrible. I do give them points for being willing to break from convention. It’s a shame some of the typography on the denoms is so clunky.
They're horrible, but the snapper is cute.

I was surprised by this crap because so many of the other newer Bally’s rebranded chips are RHC. The previous casino that was there, Casino KC, used that same junk, and Bally’s stayed with it for some reason.

Ya these are awful. I think they’re ceramic though? Not plastic. Could be wrong
I remembering someone mention the Nuggets $1 which is Icon are plastic before

I never handle them before so no idea, will not be surprised if they turn out to be ceramic

Found an old pic that shown they are Brass Slugged Plastic if they are still the same today

They certainly look like ceramics, not plastics. But it's hard to know for sure from just a picture of the artwork.

I was kidding. I’m off tomorrow. Maybe I’ll drive down just to check it out. Grab a few just because
No need to make the trip on my behalf, but if/when you do grab some, I’m interested in a single 50c for my daughter’s pink chip collection.

If @chipinla doesn't snag one for you, I'll make a quick stop the next time I head to Harrah's.

Bally's KC, the artist formerly known as Casino KC and before that the artist formerly known as Isle of Capri KC, is just two exits before the Harrah's exit. Won't be out of the way for a hit-and-run stop.

So... if lots of casinos start switching to plastics and ceramics, maybe GPI reconsiders the home market? </ducking>

Just got home from a trip to Niagara Falls. Had to grab the 2022 Chinese New Year chip. I was shocked to see that they issued them on Paulson RHC using the super grand inlay rather than their usual Burgogne et Grasset rubbish chips. I know they have recently just taken on new management with the Mohegan Group. I wonder if they they are going to issue new chips for the casino and get rid of the current chips which they've been using for quite some time now..
