I only have a sample of the 43s. They’re more slippery than any Paulsons I own, but that’s not really surprising, is it?
They’re less slippery than the sample I have of china clay royals, but that’s not surprising either.
They’re about what I expect from ceramics I guess, but also they feel great? I dunno, I’m probably just a sucker for 43s.

To be clear though, Tina cards mold is non-hybrid (/textured), so not really possible to isolate deboss contribution to slipperyness given not a true A-B, right?

No spinners, because of the recessed center. Tina card molds are ok, but expect a fair amount of spinners. By comparison, the Sunfly card and diamond molds have near zero spinners.

I’m sure somebody else is better suited to answering that. I’ve merely played with sample stacks of each and I no longer have the cards mold samples.
But off the top of my head, by our snooty PCF standards? I’d give the 39mm cards mold like 4 out of 10 and the 43mm Greeks like a 7 or a 7.5.
The cards molds are still a big upgrade over plastic 20 cent chips.

I was just wondering how CM stacks compared to WM. Sounds like CM has more spinners, and therefore don’t stack as well?

Stack great for me.

A friend of mine has a card mold set. They are slick and have many spinners.

I own a Greek mold and a web mold set. Neither one has spinners. They both stack well. However, I would recommend the web mold. Something about the design that causes the chips to grip each other, in a good way. Hard to spill them unintentionally.

Am I the only person who thinks the greek and web hybrids are really slippery? In my experience, the Scrowns and RHCs stack much better than either of those? Maybe I'll have to revisit my samples.
Make sure all of the labels are centered and below the recess edge. Whether or not the chips are 43mm makes a big difference, too.

I had one sample set of 43mm web molds that were terribly slippery -- it was due to oversized and off-centered labels that prevented chip-to-chip contact and caused spinners. Removal of the labels confirmed the chips themselves were fine. Later sample sets also confirmed that the labels are now sized and centered correctly. They grip like crazy and stack like bricks.

Imo, in terms of hybrid non-slickness:
43mm web > 43mm greek > 39mm scrown

I had that issue with my set on the Greek mold.
Which effects my ranking for the Greek mold
So far the Web Mold has been perfect. The plain mold hybrid has done better than expected as well.

The crowns are actually more slippery than the current plain mold or the Tina hat&cane.

No surprise to me, as Sun-Fly's 43mm plain mold hybrids are remarkably stable. Downsides are their glossy rolling edges, glossy-laminated labels, and much higher prices than any of the Tina hybrids.

We got a good sized set of web molds and yes, they are a bit "slippery". Especially when you go to grab a handful and stack about 25+. Everyone agrees, we wouldn't go back to the sluggos and everyone LOVES them.

I wonder if/how they will improve with a bit of dirt (or juice) on them, and believe me, that will happen with this crew . . .

Be interesting to see who changes their vote.

I initially went jester hat, and to be honest I'd be happy any of those top 4 except the wave mold, but I'm seriously loving the sun mold in those mock-up's

I like either jester hat or sun mold. I'm going sun mold but if it's not doing well I'll switch to jester. I still won't be getting chips for a while, but when I do I want one of these to be the mold I'll get them on.

May not be everyone's vision.. but feel free to follow along or give advice & suggestions! I'm going to try to get at least one version/attempt going:

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/tangiers-and-the-quest-for-a-tina-hybrid-faux-inlay.123415/

But will be a few months minimum before we see anything because of time for color sample chips, matching trial/error, etc.

Did you try any kind of scepter with the jester hat, like a baton with a bit of a flag at the end?

Also, as mentioned before, as an owner of a wave mold set I can tell you it’s a bit busy in your fingers and with the stuff on your fingers.
Any way to soften the number of waves or something like that? Also the originals are quite flat, so maybe some texture might alleviate this too.

I did try a scepter with it and lost discernability, but may just need to take another stab. It did also occur to me yesterday that the latest jesters mold may also have an issue with some of the thin walls and likely would need some revision anyway.

And wave could use a few variations, definitely think if we put more time into it we could pull out something really cool amd more unique.

If anything I vote we need a year-long thread for 2026. Lol

I'm curious to know if you are in possession of any Tina chip sets
